We too have made life long friends on our journeys that we keep in touch with. I'ts amazing too me that even though we are from such different cultures that we have so much in common. As travellers we find that we are much more open minded, kinder, and more accepting of each others differences. We believe that if we all travelled more there would be less stife in the world. (I know that's not possible but wouldn't it be great)

Good morning. In general, a Neptune suite will run in the $400/per day/per person range. Cruise fares can be very dynamic, depending on demand and I'd say that if you can get this suite for $400 or less you're doing OK. Thanks for watching.

Vlad Tepes was the ruler of Valachia, not Transylvania. A technicality, maybe but this is history. Yes, he was born in Sighisoara in Transylvania, though. That area was part of the Hungarian Kingdom at that time, and after 1526 it was a principality, so a state on its own.

Dracula is just a myth that you should be less interested in. There is also history and culture in Romania. You would be better off visiting something related to the Romanians. Even redskins were not allowed in American cities in the 18th-19th century.

This is interesting. Here are the IPA pronunciations I found: (UK, General Australian, New Zealand) IPA(key): /ˈɛd.ɪn.bə.ɹə/, IPA(key): [ˈɛd.n̩.bə.ɹə], IPA(key): /ˈɛd.ɪn.bɹə/ (usual pronunciation in England and Scotland). So, apparently, I should be using the Scottish pronunciation, using only 3 syllables. I assume you're Scottish and I can understand how my sloppy American pronunciation must grate on you. Thanks for pointing this out and for watching.

Sibiu has at least 2 steakhouses that I know of. Also, a Red, Black and Aberdeen Angus farm a few km away from the city, one of the first and largest premium beef farms in Romania, that supplies these steakhouses. Plus, any restaurant worth at least 4 stars on TripAdvisor should have at least a beef dish. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how you could not find any beef in Sibiu but the one sold by the local Burger King.
@JayandTanyaTravelАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment. We may have just gone to the wrong places and didn't look hard enough for beef. The Burger King option was more out of convenience than anything else and I certainly would have preferred a nice steak. Looks like we may have to make a return trip sometime. Thank you again for commenting.

We have always traveled on our own. I'm 76 and my wife is 72. As we have aged we find ourselves now willing to "experiment" with travelling with another couple. We're cautiously optomistic that this will turn out to a great trip because we're willing to keep an open mind and are open to some new ideas as to what to do, where to go, what to see, etc. We also think it's important to lay out some basic ground rules such as we can't always want to do what the other couple want to do so there's no harm in going our seperate ways now and then, with no hard feelings.
@JayandTanyaTravelАй бұрын
Good luck with your experiment, Ralph. Like you, we have always traveled on our own. The few times we did travel with others wasn't really the best option for us. It usually gets down to the "what do you want to do?' "well, what do you want to do?" kind of scenario. I agree, setting ground rules is very important. One benefit I can see from couples travel is that it gives all of you the opportunity to share reactions and ideas about the experiences you all are having. Have fun!

We do the same each year. We typically end our Europe travels in Croatia. We then take a flight to Heathrow and spend a night or two there before the long flight to Portland, Oregon. We’ve also broken up our flights from Portland to Europe by first flying to Washington or New York, spending a couple days there, and then taking a shorter direct flight to London.

The six berth compartment is booked out for the sole use of one group, of 1 to 6 people, so it can be for the sole use of a couple. Although it doesn't have a washbasin, it had the great advantage (to some of us!) of having two bottom bunks so no clambering up ladders. It was also significantly cheaper when we booked, tho VY operate smart pricing.

As a German I find it very uncommon that Tanya was not allowed to see her R-Ray! I have had lots of X-Rays in my life (I am f, 63 now), and I was easily allowed to see them all (and not because the doctors knew that I used to work at a veterinarian's office and was familiar with X-Rays, but simply because it was my right to see them and have them explained by the doctor!) So please note, this experience of yours is not common in Germany. I am aware I stumbled upon this video of yours very late and so I guess Tanya's wrist is fine again. (Just in case if not - my best wishes!) (Edit due to some typos)

@@JayandTanyaTravel wow, what a quick response, ty! I am glad to hear she is fine. Last not least - we have some problems in our health system because of a huge lack of medical employees.
