You need to try Gates of hell ostfont, I can't see anything here that ostfont doesn't do better. It has a ton of campaigns now with the dlc and the graphics are fantastic.

graphics from 2005...
@michaelsteffensen68447 сағат бұрын
Yep. This looks almost the same as the original Men of War, and whilst that was a great (but flawed) game, it didn't even look very good for its time. It's a shame this franchise has stagnated to the point where they've basically been releasing the same product for nearly two decades...

Love Men of War, if you die, you die, no rebuilding (though you do get first aid etc if you are wounded). You can also capture enemy equipment and vehicles. The Panzer 1 could fire armour piercing bullets which could penetrate the armour of light tanks and armoured cars.
@cassu611 сағат бұрын
I think you mean the Panzer 2? Ain't no way the mg13s penetrate any light tanks.

I disagree with you I hate the music from Risk of Rain 2... The music from Gatekeeper is way better to my ears because I prefer high upbeat music like that. EDIT: I liked the soundtrack so much that I bought the supporter DLC just for the OST to bump it in my car. ☺

Hey! Thanks for this. I've been looking at this game on and off for a while and its so difficult to find a really honest and reasonable opinion these days. Often people tend to just trend hop and jump on whatever opinion is going to get them views. I feel like i got a much better understanding of both what the game is but also why many Settlers fans didn't like it and are so negative about it. This definitely looks like something i might enjoy. Will pick it up next time its on sale.

They also have a multiplayer bullet hell game, with the same aesthetics! I believe they are all about that cute life

Isn’t this a multiplayer bullet hell?
@lykillcorreli674012 сағат бұрын
@@ozmcsween uh, kinda? This is a co-op raiding game in bullet hell form, the other one (Maiden & Spell) is more of a pvp bullet hell game that also has a more conventional bullet hell story mode.

I wasn't even gonna check this out because I enjoyed my time with Gates of Hell. But yeah, the Conquest co-op features Men of War 2 has available interests me as well. Separate reinforcement list for each player. Maybe they can even look at the strategy map instead of filling a lobby and sharing what units I assign to them.

If you do get around to reviewing the first game (or Soldiers: Heroes of WWII which was a prequel to the first 'Men of War'), you'll soon come to learn that the janky (and often terrible) voice acting is a staple of the franchise. All I'll say for anyone that is reading this and that has played the first game: "Aim is in the reach zone!"

Always online is going to be changed to being able to play offline, the devs are working on it, it was mentioned in one of the latest dev blogs.

I agree with your main argument; developers should be making the game they wanted to make rather than the game they think people want. Small feedback: the title of the series seems like a statement, you might want to consider adding a question mark after it.

I agree with you, game looks like it has no soul, no true identity of its own, just another generic action roguelite, except boringly dull. I even recognised a lot of the store bought assets they used.

Men of War Assault squad 2 released 10 years ago in 2014 but the classic 'Men of war' released way earlier in 2009. Also the Always online is confirmed tho they have said they are working on a dedicated sp mode but still... kinda dumb. I'd love to see you try Gates of Hell. I think you will really like it, if this interests you.

I wonder, does Valkyria 4 do a better job of level design? I played this in parallel with you a bit but hit that same wall of one way through…might give Val 4 a try and see if the design changes. LOVE the art and world design. Glad you came back to this. 🍻
