Larry did all he could but he still couldn't catch him. Larry merchant was a weasel with his interviews.

The media, elitist establishment never liked Larry Holmes. They said that Holmes couldn't finish fighters . The championship was given to Norton after Ali who was the raigning chap was inactive or retired. Holmes won the heavy weight boxing tournament, and the chance to fight Norton for the title. Holmes held the title for 7 years, second only to Joe Lewis who held it for 12 years.

My brother and I watched this fight Holmes won this fight going away. The establishment was for Norton.

a drunk man hit better than Bika, and Calzaghe hit like a drunk man..., a shitty fight.
@danpricop66704 күн бұрын
Bika is a boxer of a dozen, even so, Calzaghe can't fight cleanly, two rabbit punches and then he holds the opponent, Calzaghe is a big cheese, without fighting Bute, Froch or Ward.

Calzaghe give few rabbit slaps and holding...big cheese Calzaghe.

3 head butts causing sn open eye wound , a tap in the balls and punch on the back of the head while leaning face down over the ropes ...still wins deservedly.

Had it Holmes: 145-140, or 10 rounds to 5. Holmes won rounds: 1,2,3,4,7,9,11,12,13,14 Spinks won rounds: 5,6,8,10,15 Had Holmes winning the first fight too, 144-142. Or 8-6-1 Holmes. A closer fight, but I'm confident Larry won both. This is what I despise about boxing. Not only is it corrupt, but even otherwise honest judges are completely incompetent at actually scoring a fight. They need to find new blood, with better eye sight ringside. And of course, an oversight committee.
You keep hearing that Earnie's punches have no power on them whatsoever. Never once did they mention the fact that Cobb was taking Shavers' punches so well that his punches appeared to be slow and lack power. Cobb had a lot of defensive liabilities and even if Earnie was tired by round three, well during the first couple of round Earnie's power was there.

Excuse me.Donald Curry isn't, or never was a best of all time fighter.that was a label that the so called experts gave him wrongly. Curry might have been a all time most over rated fighter of all time.why the people and experts wanted him to be so good i have no idea.
@Michael-p2i11 күн бұрын
Vegas always made Curry the favorite in almost every fight.there were some fighter's in the 80's and 90's that the people would always make the favorites unreservedly.
@Michael-p2i11 күн бұрын
Curry always looked weak in the ring,always slowching over at the waist,lumbering around, like he didn't have strong legs or something. Very poor body language.
