Educational video. But why that extremely annoying noise (music?) in the background? I would have liked to focus on teaching. I don't miss a bad music lesson.

wow... I found 2 new tricks.... may be cuz I get used to meassuring angles and eyeballin.... 1. I never sighting widh by hight of the model.... 2. never turn any model or photo upside down cuz I feel it is unnecessary.... but I will give this a try... thank you

Acrylic paint is NOT stable when watered down with water so you need the appropriate medium to thin it for a base if you’re trying to see through to your sketch or such

Come on man there is a way better than this .. cover the back of your paper with charcoal then stick it to the canvas then trace it with a red pen .. that is more easier and faster ... do it and thank me later .

Can I draw on a white canvas with soft vine charcoal, use a fixative on the drawing and apply my imprimatura over the drawing ?

When I first started at art school years ago I automatically started noticing shadows, eg on newscaster's faces on tv. I assume from really looking at the life model or other objects I was drawing. The different colours in shadows are fascinating as well. Maybe that helped when later I started nursing. A nurse needs to asess the patient by noticing things. Eg reddened areas over joints that might be caused by pressure, bruising from falls or other causes. Pallor. Expressions. All tell you something.

Even when drawing from life, you can look at your drawing and the model upside down through a mirror if you hold it horizontally upside down above your eyebrows. Admittedly that's a mirrored image, not a rotated image, but still.

Yes this was very helpful on toning. It helped make since out of it all. I like toning my canvas but still have a difficulty knowing what colors to use. I paint portraits - pets and people from photos for customers (well and landscapes- but the portraits are my biggest challenge when it comes to toning). I still a little hard time decided how to tone each canvas based on the photo reference. I appreciated the choice of selecting a harmonious or complementary color - but I still second guess my decisions especially with painting from not so good photos. So if I want to tone with a harmonious color for a person portrait - what do you look at or identify to help with your selection? Thank you mucho!
