Had an ih skid steer ,sure didn’t look as good as this one!

@@donstone4349 Out of all the incredible things at that show that skid steer stood out to me the most. Impressed me so much I wanted it on the cover of the video. How did your skid steer perform? Thank you for watching!

Very nice. Isn't it ironic how little old J.I. Case survived while the big ones crashed burned, bankrupt or had to merge. Good product always survives the test of time.
@thewestnewyorker726917 күн бұрын
J.I. Case just kept chugging along. Hard to believe Case, International Harvester, New Holland, and what was Ford Tractor are all now one company.
@don66hotrod9416 күн бұрын
JI Case had some of the worst management in corporate history and yet the name still survives. It is some kind of miracle. Case did go broke in 1964 and was taken over by Kern County Land Company, who was then taken over by Tenneco. It is estimated that the president of Tenneco had a soft spot for Case and dropped approximately 2 billion in an attempt to save it. This is documented in a book titled, "Losing the tractor wars" IIRC Nice 400. Case dealers finally had a tractor that was advanced ahead of the competition. If only it had been introduce a few years earlier.
@thewestnewyorker726916 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing! I don't know a lot about Case, but from what little I know it reminds me of the Jeep brand. It started strong, keeps changing hands and yet Today the name is still around. Someone somewhere must definitely like Case because International Harvester was a much bigger name and brand.
@don66hotrod9415 күн бұрын
@@thewestnewyorker7269 Everybody except John Deere was in dire straits during the farm financial crisis of the early-mid 80's. Tenneco swooped in and scooped up the assets, tax benefits, and dealer network of IH for a song in late 1984. IH was within 5 days of going out of business completely. In order to woo the dealers and customers the paint was changed and IH was included in branding. Interestingly, CASE construction makes no mention of IH as the construction division was usually quite healthy. If you go to the Case AG site there is barely a mention of JI Case. If you go to the Construction site it is highly complimentary to Case history. Strange disconnect IMHO. At one time, Case was king of equipment manufacturing making nearly 50% of all steam engines and threshing machines. It's too bad they lost their way with poor planning and management decisions many years ago. The Eagle on the Globe was once a symbol of greatness.

I was there on Saturday. The show seemed smaller than in years past, although this was the first show since Covid. I was there in August for the New York Steam Pagent of Steam too. I go to both shows every year, but Canandaigua only hosts John Deere Expo on odd years.

I think Covid did put a hurting on the Expo. I have also noticed that a lot of the people are older folks and are to the point that it is difficult for them to load all the equipment and travel. Regardless I always enjoy going! Hope to be at the steamers this year! Thanks for watching!
