Woooow, was für ein Meisterwerk auf einer herrlichen Orgel gespielt 👌 Danke fürs Teilhabenlassen 😊

I love seeing the teamwork of the organist and registrants and find myself wondering… maybe someone can enlighten me. Do the assistants come with the organ or organist? Why do all of the large famous organs not have registrants helping the organist? Is it because of the specifications of certain instruments (like St. Sulpice)? It seems that the St. Sulpice organists tend to work with the same assistants and they are always on the same sides. Are they themselves organists? Maybe someone can explain how it works..

To see and hear Maestro Roth, perform this piece with such creativity, wearing a puffer coat and scarf in the middle of winter, Pierre-Francois next to him and shivering. Supplemental heat in a cathedral like St. Sulpice is a rarity.

Quel organiste ! C'est merveilleusement joué, avec une dynamique rythmique, un sens du phrasé, un souffle comme on l'entend rarement. Comme le disait Glenn Gould "on a envie de se jeter à terre pour trépigner de joie !"

Bravo, maestro! Years ago, I acquired a CD on which you play this masterpiece at Saint-Ouen. It immediately became my favourite CD recording, and still is. And this Saint-Sulpice rendition is to my ears the best version available on KZbin. I appreciate the sincere devotion with which you appear to approach the piece and the profound majesty you manage to call forth from the score. It's all very impressive and immersive to me. For you, playing this piece does not seem to be about flashy physical virtuosity, but about intense spiritual expression. Merci beaucoup!

Anyone knows anything about this recording of Faure's Lux Aeterna? Sounds a little distant as if it was recorded from the organ console but is indeed very beautiful

Saint-Sulpice is justly one of the most famous organs in the world, and I like M. Mossakowski's playing A LOT! (No wonder he's titulaire.)

Oh my goodness! Yes, I can see your point. The problem with this piece, I think anyway, is there are definitely people who can play this piece as fast and faster, BUT, they miss defining the solo lines, especially the pedals in the prelude, or just listen to the big 32’s Montré coming in at 5’.32”, it’s just so clear, even when he lets the leashes off at the the end. I think a lot has to do with where the sound engineers place their microphones! But what a honey of an instrument!
