great rebuild - restore. I put my 49 pan in a 58 swingarm frame. the streets were brutal on my back with a ridge. ran it all over for 10 years ( in comfort ).

Nahhh. The number Boss is certainly unmolested. But 6 and 9s don't look good. The 8 is upside down. No serif on the 2 and a wrong 1.

Really sweet 64, I love the buddy seat, it's in amazing condition. I wish I had one just like it on my 63 FLH. I have an original paint 63 FLH king of the road duoglide. I enjoyed your video explaining some of the modifications the original owner made like chain guard and the fuel tank from 65.👍

I love watching yalls videos, followed both of yall on IG. I bought some 48 cases with matching numbers just before the first video you released. Really great info, I nerd out and read everything I can find and annoy all the old timers (I’m 39) at every swap meet to get as much info I can. Been tinkering around with shovels for the last 10 years or so and ready to graduate to Pans, keep putting out the good stuff!

Nice 64'. I have a 61' FLH I picked up awhile back that was severely neglected. I've been working on bringing her back to life. M almost there, but looking for a trustworthy shop in the Seattle area to help. Thanks for the video and again, great looking bike.

This is a great video, with lots of great information. Thanks!!! I'm doing a 61 FL now. We are bringing it back to life and videoing everything that we do. If you've got a few tools, watch the videos and save yourself some cash. They are in our Playlist. Ride safe, good luck and have fun!!!

I bought my 1st Harley from Seattle H-D in 1969. It was a 64 FLH with the King of the Hiway package. I wasn't yet old enough to have a drivers license at the time. I was the the only guy in my High School (Highline) with a Harley and thought I was really hot shit!

I Owners a 1958 FL and it has DUO GLIDE with a circle R it cane out in mid 58
@theThomandEricshowАй бұрын
Only 1958 and 59 have the duo-glide badge without the “circle R” registered trademark embossment. That badge with the embossment, was not introduced until 1960, so if your 58 has those badges on the fender, they are not correct. These details can be seen in all prototype photos for each model year in the archives, so it’s not just my opinion. 🤙🏻

Yhe Enclosed Chainguard Broke all the time.🤣At least 2 of mine did so you fix it by putting the lighter guard on.
@Dr.Harley5 күн бұрын
You can also prevent cracking by using rubber washers not only in the front (as was done by design) but for the rear chainguard-mount as well. Just use the same parts as for the front. Never understood why they didn't do that?

the seat rail should go through the holes of the skirting of the seat....should not take so many kicks to start... gas on, choke on full, 2 prime kicks with ignition off, open throttle or 3 prime kicks then ignition on turn choke off plus 1 click or 2clicks every bike has a sweet spot..... you want the carb to flood like you said it does ...if gas doesnt stop flowing you need to take carb off and reset the float (1/4 inch to 5/16 inch from top of bowl) ....thottle at about 1/4 to a 1/2 ...do with circuit breaker retarded the whole way...any color paint was available that was availeable prior years besides 1945 when only grey was offered due to war effort......nice bike but that windshield and mirrors throw it off ...a nice trick to make sure the air /fuel mixture i sset is crank the throttle and release.,...... it shoudl go right back to steady idle....enjoy the ride!

Hey there Arthur, thanks for watching! As much as I would love to be available for projects like that, I just don’t have room at the moment. If you need a suggestion on a great shop in the area, I would recommend Northwest Custom Cycle in snoqualmie. Michael is a dear friend and does fantastic work. 🤙🏻

A lot of good information on this. I have a 57 pan and just did a study on the steering damper because they had a problem with it starting in 1958 with a duo glide and they had to completely loosen them and then stop putting them on there altogether. Bad wobble at higher speeds
