Thanks for this video, very helpful. Do you use anything specific to help you find craft fairs and markets that are going on near you? like a specific website?

The pocket hugs are a cute idea, but I think I would prefer to carry one around without the card (after I'd bought it and seen what the message was). Maybe you could safety pin them to the card and make it an option to keep the card, pocket the hug by itself or pin the hug onto your clothing?

Thank you for the idea! I do have some pin brooches so may do some experimenting ☺️

Well done on your new stall. Can l ask what insurance etc you need to sell your work?

I have public liability insurance and then UKCA testing on products that have play value as a basic. For both of these you will need to carry out research to see how they apply to your needs and legal requirements- there may also be different things that venues require too!
@WoWBloodrend Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! How did you find going through all of the CE/UKCA testing? I'm so overwhelmed with it all at the moment but others seem unphased😅
@AbbiesAtticDesigns Жыл бұрын
I found reading through the pack slowly and breaking it up into chunks much more manageable. For example, sourcing suitable resources with the needed certificates for the technical file first and then moving onto physical testing. Joining the group on Facebook is also beneficial as there’s lots of tips and I search for any questions I had for any answers that already existed too!

@@AbbiesAtticDesigns Thank you so much! That's a good idea, I think I look at it as a big picture and then just get a bit upset with myself for not just being able to take it all in
@sadiewest7021 Жыл бұрын
Do you UKCA test your crochet plushies? It’s a legal requirement to do so. It doesn’t matter if you say they aren’t toys and not suitable for younger children, if something has a play element then you need to test it. I know it’s annoying but you’re not only putting children and babies at risk but also yourself at risk of getting fined thousands of pounds.

Hi there thank you for making others aware of UKCA testing and need for plushies to be tested.

I would love to see a video covering all things QR code related. How to get one, does it cost? How to link Facebook and instagram to the code etc. I know ZERO about them other than you scan it with your phone and it takes you to the linked web address. PLEEEEASE help!
@AbbiesAtticDesigns Жыл бұрын
I can absolutely do a video about this but here’s a quick low down before then that might be useful! I use the built in QR Code Generator in Canva which is free to use! I have the qr code go to my Linktree URL which contains all my social media and shop links! I choose this so people have a choice of what they select and I can update links within Linktree so the qr code is unaffected!

Can I give you a bit of advice..... Go into each market like you're going to sell $1,000 and HAVE THE INVENTORY TO DO SO!! When you THINK you've got a lot of stock times that by 10 and just keep making more and more! IF it doesn't sell at the market you're at then you've got it for the next event and you can focus your attention on stocking something else. Fill those flower vases up and have tons of extra back stock to keep putting more up when some sell. set a goal for a dozen of each color then you'll know what was popular and next time you make more of the popular colors. You lose sales when you don't have enough. I'm going to subscribe, I sure hope you do more markets and vlog them. I'd love to be able to watch your business grow and see how you become increasingly successful with each event. The bees are simply adorable!! Might i suggest you crocheting a "bee hive" and using it as part of your display by having a couple bees peeking out of the "hive". IF the hive sells YEAH but if not then it's a perfect addition to your display. Maybe even a crocheted jar of honey :)

Thank you for the advice Liz! I am definitely aiming to have more stock backed up and some of the products in this video were new ideas made days before the market! Unfortunately I work my main job 5-6 days a week and live in small 1 bedroom flat so time and space isn’t always on my side but I am definitely striving to have more of everything 😊

Hello! I am a crafter too and sadly such markets do not happen in my side of the world...any idea how I could get my products to markets over there?
@AbbiesAtticDesigns Жыл бұрын
I’m not too sure on how you can get into markets in the U.K. without being present but definitely have a look at e-markets (websites or Facebook) or online stores - for example I’m also on Etsy!

I love all your work Abbie ❤️ and love your videos can I ask what app you make your stickers for your prices please, signed up for my 1st crsft fair in august and hadnt thought of printing out the prices I'm also in UK xx

Thank you so much 💖 I use Canva to do the design work (as for pretty much everything I print and design including my logo!) and I then print them on normal paper and use double sided sticky tape to add them to my small pre cut cards which I had left over from another project so you could just print onto card directly instead! For the other pricing I add these to boarded cardboard for extra durability! I hope that helps 😊 If you head over to my April Market vlog I show a bit more of the process there too x

Hello, What does your worry whale sign say? Love your set up! Thanks!
@AbbiesAtticDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! The back of the worry whale card tells the story about how they were inspired by the worry dolls my grandma gave me as a child and front is a little quote I created with a whale name and saying they are there to listen to your worries and bring you comfort when you need a buddy!

Hello! I'm a fellow crocheter too & will be moving to the UK soon! I'd like to know the do's & don't's of selling crocheted goods at crafts markets there; eg licensing, insurance, especially selling toys, etc. Please & thank you!
@AbbiesAtticDesigns Жыл бұрын
I will look at making a longer detailed video of this in the future but you will need insurance to sell at markets (and ideally you should have this even if you only sell online!) and you will need to have toys tested too.
