The thing is effy never forced them to love her. They all objectified her when they met her and so she went along with them and made the game and cook won. Then she liked cook so she kept him around and she liked him but I think she fell in love with the idea of freddie, of someone kind that can be there for her. She didn't know him enough at first to actually fall in love but she thought she did and that kinda screwed her over while cook thought she was just someone to have sex with but realized he actually loved her. He helped her and she helped him but freddie was "kind" and she felt like she wanted that. I'll never like freddie for how he treated her because although he claimed to love her and all that he always treated her like crap until the end. Obviously cook and effy weren't the healthiest because they were just screw buddies but freddie was in a relationship with her and treated her poorly. He never wanted effy, he wanted to fix her. He didn't believe her with the katie thing, he didn't stand up for her when cook kicked her out of the shed, he just wasn't there. Except when she was going to kill herself because she was freaking going to kill herself, who in their right mind wouldn't help someone out if they're going through that. Especially since freddies mom went through the same thing, of course he was gonna help. Cook loved effy and freddie loved the idea of fixing her.

Late comment. Effy always had Freddie in her head, she fell in love with a man that look so much as him. However, I wished they made some more connections to it :) good job tho!

I agree that Cook and Effy were probably made for each other.But it was so difficult.Cook treated her like crap bc he was extremely scared of expressing his feelings to her or to anyone.He didn’t really knew another way to show love other than sex.Even if Freddy is extremely boring and simple,Effy fell in love with him just the same way anyone falls in love.You never know why it is that person.But it’s just is.

In my humble opinion. I don’t think Effy and Freddie should have ended up together. He didn’t seem to care about her like Cook did. I think that James should have ended up with her, he genuinely cared about her.
