Back then I was just excited to have something like portal that I could play portably. It was super impressive back then. In hindsight, it's crazy how far we've come!

It's the same as with any other game that doesn't have native controller support. You don't bind any buttons to controls directly, you bind controls buttons to keyboard & mouse buttons/actions that are bound to controls via the controller confiugration stuff in steam.

It should just be in the Discover software center?

I'm assuming you mean desktop mode and game mode? (It's all steam OS) You can add any entries in Lutris as non-steam games to steam (right , which will make them show up in game mode. Just right click on something and select "create steam shortcut". One thing I will say though is that the performance issues I've been having where after 2 games the game will have terrible performance any time you turn the camera in a match only seem to happen in game mode.

Since this video is from 2011 I would have been using a 4th gen iPod Touch back then. (Hardware wise similar to an iPhone 4 with half a s much ram)

Da es sich ja einfach nur um das PC Spiel handelt ist der Speicherverbrauch identisch zu jedem anderen PC, also aktuell etwa 60GB. In deinem Fall würdest du also auf jeden fall eine Micro SD Karte brauchen, oder den internen Speicher austauschen müssen.

Wenn ich World of Warships auf der Steam Deck spiele dann kann ich auf mein Spiel was ich auf dem PC gespielt habe einloggen? Also ich nutze den PC Account von wargaming auf der Steam Deck hab ich das richtig verstanden?

The 7.0 option was just there when I instealled Lutris, it might be because I had installed wine from the discover application previously. If that doesn't work for you, you might be able to get 7.0 fairly easily via ProtonUp-QT (also available in Discover), but I'm not sure if it'd have *exactly* the same version. I've tried using different newer wine versions, and for a while some 7.2 version did work for me, but then the game started freezing again during startup. It's a bit of a shame, since with that newer version the bug where the mouse would constantly disappear was fixed.

@@Der-Kleine Ok thanks for the fast response. I will play around some more. I did just get 7.0 in my Lutris now but was trying to get it to show in comparability tools in the Steam OS. Thanks again.

Small update, I was just playing around with ProtonUp-QT while writing the previous reply, and tried out the latest Wine version listed under the "Kron4ek Wine-Builds Vanilla" compatibility tool list in ProtonUp-QT. With version 7.9, I was able to start the game, so maybe the trick is to use those versions of Wine, and NOT any of the Wine-GE or lutris-wine versions. That version still seems to have the mouse-disappearing bug though, so it's not as good as the one time where the lutris-7.2 version actually worked. Strangely enough I just switched to lutris-7.2 (not lutris-fshack-7.2!) and now that's working again... In any case, the vanilla wine stuff seemed to be working more consistently, though if/whenever you can get the lutris wine stuff to work, that might be a slightly better experience while actually playing the game.

@@Der-Kleine Ok thanks for your last reply. So I ended up deleting the Steam copy and the Epic store copy and just went back to the Lutris standard launcher. The wine 7.9 did the trick. Before it wouldn't even let me log into my account but now it is. Kinda happy I still have my Steam Controller around now. Just plug the deck into the tv and work with that and a keyboard.

Part of the problem is that I'm not 100% sure anymore and would have to redo the whole thing to find out if anything I said was wrong. How far have you gotten with the installation? Were you at least able to get Game Center installed and accessible through Lutris?

I only installed Wine from the discover app and then used that to Launch the game. Wine doesn't show up in my installed apps and neither does WoWS but there is a crappy desktop icon I can use to launch the game.

The new frustrating thing is I can't set up any controls and WoWS doesn't show in the non-steam section. It definitely doesn't help that I am a total Linux noob

@@Skerra-kk6sm So I'm not a Linux expert or anything, so for anyone more experienced reading this, take the technicalities with a grain of salt, but: Regarding adding your WoWs install as a non-steam game, by deault that list will only show native linux applications. Your WoWs install being a windows application would not classify as that, and Wine itself isn't really an application you can run on its own, so neither of them show up in the list. You can however still add your WoWs installation to steam by clicking browse, going to its install location and selecting the EXE. You will have to enable the display of all file types while browsing. If you used wine to install the launcher and everything, I'd assume it'd be installed under "home/deck/.wine/drive_c/..." (after ... it'd be the same as on Windows). If you add a windows application to steam thi way you will no longer be using wine to run it though, so you'll have to tell steam to use proton to make it compatible (Right click on the addded game => properties => compatibility => Force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool). Alternatively you could download Lutris, hit the + Button in the top left => Add locally installed game => Seleect Wine as the runner in the Game Info Tab => In the game options tab locate the executable, and add the .wine folder on the path to that executable to the wine prefix field. With that added to the Lutris library, you should be able to add a short cut to that entry in Lutris to steam just by right clicking on the game and selecting "Create steam shortcut". I would recommend giving Lutris a try, it's great for managing games from a bunch of store fronts that are not steam, and you get a lot of control over how games are run with it compared to steam.

This is actually resolved easily by adding the following to the top of the preferences xml <scriptsPreferences> <!-- skip --> <ui> <!-- skip --> <skipVideo> true </skipVideo>

Can you write this out again, I’m trying to get it to work, and not sure the exact format of what you typed out.

@@CoreMemory576 if you navigate to where the game is installed, open Preferencesxml, then at the very top, under the <ui> add <skipVideo> true </skipVideo> for me i added it above <locale> EN </locale>
