Can I grind more than 10 seconds and make it into a smooth paste?
@FatGuyNoMoreАй бұрын
I have avoided trying to make soy milk because other videos make it look like a big mess. But your video made it simple so I made a batch the other day. Super creamy and smooth, its amazing! I then turned that first batch into Greek style soy yogurt and am loving it! Thank you!!

To not get the "BURN" warning: Turn off the "keep warm" and make sure to **get rid of the froth** before starting the IP. Mine gave me the BURN warning once - before even getting hot enough for any pressure to build (the "keep warm" was off because I ALWAYS turn that off) ... I just opened it up and skimmed off more of the froth (I thought I had gotten it all, but there was more). My pot definitely wasn't too full because I used my 8qt, and I was only making 1 cup of soy beans (dry volume before soaking). "Soybeans and other beans can become frothy when cooked due to the presence of starch, protein, and saponins." This of course also happens just by blending them even before cooking. The Instant Pots seem to react to the presence of these bubbly starches. It can happen with oats too, which is why it's recommended to not put too much in the IP. Just my 2 ¢ Hope it helps someone. 🙏

I've tried this recipe about 10 times now. The way to avoid the burn warning is to place a milk bag in the instant pot and pour the blended soy beans into that milk bag. I've also added something like a ring (e.g. a metal mason jar lid) below the milk bag to partially elevate the milk bag slightly from the bottom of the instant pot. Hopefully that makes sense. Give it a shot and let me know if it solvesthe burn notice problem!

Fixed burning by using mesh stainless steel basket inside instant pot, here's my modified version that worked for me (doubled, no sugar): Rinse 2 cups soy beans, soak 8+ hours Drain beans, pour into blender with 4 cups of filtered water (max line in stainless steel Vitamix) Blend 10 seconds Pour blended beans + 6 cups water (max line in ss Vitamix after emptying beans and refilling) into mesh stainless steel basket sitting inside instant pot (to prevent burning). Skim off froth. Close instant pot, 7 minutes high pressure. Natural release for 25 minutes. Pull out mesh basket and sit on rimmed plate Strain milk through fine stainless steel mesh (mason jar with sprouting lid works well) Strain milk from rimmed plate. Refrigerate.

Sorry sacralidge. This dish should only be served with seafood and NOTHING five spice. This isn't a Chinese dish. BTW. I've eaten at Perilla before. Super good, however they are just trying to make their garlic noodles stand out in a sea of copycat dishes in SF

great video, but the beef looks super dried out and black. Is that just a lighting thing? Also, whats the spice packet thing called if one would need to ask for it with its chinese name?

Hey! I can see how it looks that way but it wasn't dry at all :). And the spice packet is called a Lu Bao

That's my favorite drink from 7 Leaves as well. My second favorite is the taro milk tea. Frankly, everything I've tried there has been great including the limited time Brazilian lemonade which was only there for summer. Great video.

Love your enthusiasm. here goes some suggestions. Freshly grated parmaggiano reggiano. that whitish powder looked like kraft cheese dust. kill thev soy sauce, use oyster sauce. it'll give you that sweetness you're seeking without overdoing the salt. And heat your pan to decent level, so the noodles dance. heat will caramelize and increase the flavors

Omit the soy sauce and use Golden Mountain sauce instead. I also add just a dash of Maggi. Make sure you use fresh grated parmesan from Italy. I just use 2 teaspoons of fish sauce, 1 Tbs "Lady in the boat" oyster sauce, 1 TBC Golden Mountain. The noodles you used are fine. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped scallions
