Does this mess up the ride?
@xineeringАй бұрын
Our device does not adjust or have anything to do with the ride quality. It only tells the SCM that the magneride shocks/struts are still there. If your shocks/struts are bad and you are replacing them with non-magneride then your ride will be extremely better and you will need our device to remove the Service Suspension message.

Do they make these for an older 2007 Buick Lucerne CXL?
@xineering2 ай бұрын
The 2007 Buick Magneride uses an older suspension control module that is not supported by your OBDSS module. Check out our FAQ section for two options. shocksims.com/FAQ_MultiPiece.html You may be able to remove the RPO code via the BCM using a Tech2 Scanner. Scroll down to: Disabling F55 (Real-Time Dampening/Magneride) on a 2003 to 2013 Corvettes with Tech2. Or replace the shocks with resistors as outlined in our "Bypassing Z55 "Pre-2015" Magneride" section. Replacing those shocks at the 2 pin connector with a resistor usually works.
@dante7776667772 ай бұрын
My front shocks were grooving my tires and rubbing up against the shocks on both sides.(2007 Buick Lucerne CXL)after a rotor/brake pad installation. Do you think the sensors could have went out of calibration while doing this?
@xineering2 ай бұрын
This sounds like an alignment/fitment issue with the wheel. Perhaps the new rotor hats were different thickness, bringing the wheel closer to the shocks? The ride height sensor calibration will only affect the dampening behavior of the active shocks. Meaning, The suspension module adjusts the shocks according to (but not limited to) changes in ride height 'away' from the normal (zero trim) ride height. Other input factors are speed, braking pressure, steering angle, and vehicle pitch.

Is there an advantage in using this kit versus just using the ARC coils removed from the old shocks?
@xineering2 ай бұрын
Both solutions (OBD/SS ARC Module and Solenoid Coils) provide a robust and reliable bypass to the Z45 Active Ride Control. The ARC module is MUCH easier to install and does not require the disassembly of the OEM struts i.e. removing their 'solenoid coil'. It is a bit labor intensive as shown in our Z45 FREE bypass video and there is a chance of breaking the solenoid if you are not careful.

Is it activated by the clutch or the gear you're going into? Do have to release the clutch between down shifts? For example 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd do you have to release the clutch every time?
@xineering3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment!!! Keep the questions coming! It is activated by each new clutch press WHILE under braking. It will blip anytime the Brake is pressed FIRST followed by a clutch press. If you continue to hold the brake it will blip on every NEW clutch press. During deceleration where more than one gear change is require..... the driver should go down sequentially through each gear (allowing engine braking to help pull speed out of the car) until reaching your desired turn in speed and optimal RPM. Look at in-car foot cam videos of racers 'Heel to toe' downshifting as they rev match through multiple downshifts. That is what we are replicating.

From what we have found, non-magneride shocks are less expensive than OEM Magneride shocks/struts and last longer. It's a personal preference in the ride. Our solution is there for those that want to save money.

I took out each strut and shock, after i unplugged the wire harness. i cut out each sensor part of each with a grinding wheel, being careful to not damage the insides of the sensors of the old shock/strut. i then wrapped up the old sensor in plastic wrap and lots rhino tape and electric tape. i zipped tied each in safe spot in the wheel well. i reconnected the wire harness and i got no fault lights and car runs nice with new struts and shocks for a lot less money.

Good video. I just had to replace my suspension control module in my 2015 Tahoe LTZ and I do have a scanner that can do the relearn procedure. Is that the only programming required if I replaced the module? Not sure if there is a flash or anything the dealer would need to do?
@xineering5 ай бұрын
Please email us and we can help as we have a few questions. If you ordered the SCM online (and it was programmed to your VIN) AND you are running OEM magneride then yes you will need to do the trim procedure. If you ordered an SCM online from another junk yard vehicle, it will likely need to be programmed to your VIN before it will function properly in your vehicle. (we have never tried that) We have helped a few customers replace their SCMs. We order a used SCM, program it to the latest firmware for their VIN then have them install it. (If they are bypassing the magneride there is no need for the trim procedure) If they are running OEM magneride then they will need to do the trim procedure for the magneride to function properly. The correct way to install a new SCM is to have it programmed to your VIN via GM Tech Connect with a supported J2534 PassThru (Mongoose-Plus J2534 OEM Vehicle Interface Cable - GM OEM). Then after it is installed you would need to perform the ride height trin procedure to learn your vehilce's normal ride height.

@xineering11 ай бұрын
That is one way to do it... BUT: If you do this you will causing a rush of DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) to be present on your SCM (Suspension Control Module) resulting in a speed limiter. Many people in Texas or other states that experience freeway speeds of 80mph+ will have a hard time maintaining pace in traffic. If the compressor fuse is missing, anyone looking to utilize their rear air suspension for towing will not have functioning Auto Leveling in the rear. Our OBD/SS line of magneride bypasses allows you to utilize after market air suspension and takes care of the speed limiter.
