Both front and rear shocks are magneride on this vehicle. Magneride tends to fail within 60k miles, replacing with standard stuts/coilovers is cheaper and more robust. Our OBD/SS bypass kits allow us to do so! shocksims.com/shop.html#!/OBD-SS-Module/p/553911289/category=0

Great video, Thank you! I'm considering switching away from the Magnaride system. Got my 2019 Tahoe Premier about one year ago and rear end has always been SO stiff. Currently at 60k miles. What if I already have something plugged into the OBD2 port, keeping the truck running continuously in V8.

Hey Rafael, To get rid of the Service Suspension Message on the dashboard, simply leave the vehicle harness alone and plug in an OBD/SS. shocksims.com/shop.html#!/OBD-SS-Module/p/553911289/category=0

Thank you for the video. Very helpful. My 2019 Suburban with magnaride......also failed at 70k miles. Our driving is light use...but such crummy ride today. Dealer wants $6k for front and rear shocks replaced. What a scam. $2100 for parts on rear and $2300 on the front struts. Labor another 1800 or about. I would not like having something plugged into my ODBC port though.

Hi there. Thank you for the comment. We understand about having something plugged in to the OBDII port. We do offer a Pass-Thru cable which once installed allows for the OBDII port to be open. Check it out on our website or give us a call. We are here to help.

@xineering5 ай бұрын
The easiest way to tell if you have Magneride shocks/struts is there will be an electrical plug coming out of the top of the shocks/struts. The RPO code will also tell you. Typically the Tahoe LS model does not have magneride.

What strut do you use if you have a 22 innch wheeel?
@xineering7 ай бұрын
From our experience, we found that almost all aftermarket struts work fine with 22" wheels. The Tahoe in this video is equipped with the LTZ 22" wheels and rides great with its replacements. There are some recommended front and rear shocks in the FAQ section of ShockSims.com (depending on if you want to retain auto level in the rear) For your Tahoe up front we recommend the Monroe 139104 fully assembled front strut For the rear you can use anything from an 2007-2023 1500 truck. If you want non-magneride auto level air in the rear, which we highly recommended if you tow over 2000#. Check out our shock page! shocksims.com/shocks.html

I recently purchased a used 2015 tahoe ltz...the rear air rides look as though they were changed recently cutouts in the fender well right where the upper bolts are and shocks look pretty clean but the fronts are shot. Can you replace the fronts with non magneride with your bypass module but leave the rear alone for now is that possible?
@xineering5 ай бұрын
Exactly! You can do the fronts now with our bypass module and the rear will still function as normal. Then when you do the rears our Module will automatically bypass the rear as well. No need to purchase anything additional from us.

to get rid of the " service suspension system " message just pull the fuse for the auto leveling and the compressor fuse......message goes away......no need for any gadgets
@xineering9 ай бұрын
That is one way to do it... BUT: If you do this you will causing a rush of DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) to be present on your SCM (Suspension Control Module) resulting in a speed limiter. Many people in Texas or other states that experience freeway speeds of 80mph+ will have a hard time maintaining pace in traffic. If the compressor fuse is missing, anyone looking to utilize their rear air suspension for towing will not have functioning Auto Leveling in the rear. Our OBD/SS line of magneride bypasses allows you to utilize after market air suspension and takes care of the speed limiter.
