I took naltrexone aka vivitrol for the acute. Aka, through myself into a one-time precipitated withdrawal. Unfortunately I also took like 5g of gabapentin to not “feel the hell” as badly (it was still hell for 6 hrs btw), ended up going to work for 2 more hours (I don’t know how the hell I worked but it was fucking terrible) and then ended up passing out on my car and crashing into a truck on my way home

Im on day five myself. Beeen there done that about four times now with the devils drug Suboxone. Been on it since 2011! Im 37 and just feel like im too damn old to be in a Suboxone clinic every month when ive been doin this for 13 long exhausting years. Not saying dont get on them if u need to at a ANY AGE. But 13 years is way too long for me. I am a widow and have an almost four year old daughter with Asperger's. Also tale care of my 64 year old mom who has M.S so the hardest part is definitely the not sleeping like i roam around my house all night trying to find different area ways to sleep cua of the restless legs hell even my arms n spine feel restless. I caved and got kratom yesterday. Im not taking enough to be euphoric or god forbid false semse of well being just enough to help me sleep. Its been good. But im not taking anymore after day 10. That'll make 6 days of being on kratom n then im done. I do believe for me tho because ive tried quitting two months ago and only made it to day 5 so for me day 5 is always the make pr brake day. I was off this junk for nine months three years ago and i swear its because i became lazy and placid in my head causing me to slip up n get on them again. God theyre so easy to get but not one of those fucking doctors will ever be able to write u shit to detox from them. It really feels like an agenda but thats for another time. That "makes you want to take other stuff" effect is what alcohol is like for me. Impulsive. That's why when I'm off kratom I can't drink, the idea of getting opioids or back on kratom quickly pops in my head. Weed is usually the opposite, it helps my cravings and ill go clean my room or something lol. Kratom makes me crave caffeine and nicotine. Although the combo of those 3 is nowhere near other opioids in terms of recreational value. Even if you add in weed, you might nod off but it's not the same kind of nod you'd anticipate.

I'm not a doctor but i want to say that my advice once you're in the post-accute stage is this- do NOT get on anti-depressants!

The biggest thing with ALL Opiate and Opiate like withdrawal all comes down to your metabolism. If you have a slow metabolism Opiate withdrawal will literally last for 3-4+ months and I'm talking about Physical acute.

I was prescribed 800 mg. 3 times a day by the VA. Doesn't do anything. They want you to lose your mind, so they don't have to deal with you 😢😢.

I remember when every time I jumped down on the taper there would be that anxiety waiting for the sweats to hit, never really did until 2mg a day but that’s when I got on sublocade for a couple months and I was done.

I just hope it actually helps her more than anything else that you have to deal with when you have cancer

I got loaded on subs in jail. Loaded. Now on 18-24 for the last 7 years, I feel zero from taking it. I’m glad I got off the methadone even if I’m still on subs, I’d prefer that than 160mg of methadone. Either way, it sucks to get off of. I’ll do it, but I expect a battle that’s going to be painful.

Omg i couldnt fathem going to work sober. Im 6 days clean (not long) but i feel like a whole new person. I worked for the first time sober yesterday and it was the best day i could have had. So proud of those who are able to stick with it even if you have screwed up once or twice. Wish me luck on my continued journey❤

I started going to a clinic back in 2017. I had been in an accident that left me temporarily paralyzed and a broken back. It was horrible. I got pain pills prescribed and later an addiction. In my teens,20’s30’s I never touched anything,nothing! Now I was in my mid 40’s and hooked on pain pills. I was ashamed but honestly couldn’t be helped. So many get an addiction like I did. The clinic was my idea after the dr wanted me to go to a pain clinic. I went to a Suboxone dr instead. The clinic wanted me on two strips a day? I did this for a year. I changed to a local Dr who will not write over a strip a day. I did that for a few years. I’m now down to 2mg. I’m going to do this for a couple of months then ease down. I want to jump but decided to do a very dedicated drop. I wonder how many out there acquired an addiction from their Dr? Several I bet! Best of luck to everyone going thru this.
