Kind of surprising to see Coit starting for Ku. Zeke Mayo and Flory Bidunga have been great additions. I think Harris Adams and Dickinson are the only 3 we can trust that will be high minute starters consistently all season. Self will likely try different starting lineups and rotations to keep building team chemistry which he knows will be important in March. I think they will make a deep run. With the flexibility their depth gives them, there’s not one team that is a “bad match up” for them. Dajuan Harris is the most underrated PG in the NCAA
@Bracketsscience2 сағат бұрын
@@Taylive892 Agreed. I’m also very surprised Coit is starting. Mayo looks like he might be a huge piece for the team. If they can get Storr rolling, they are going to be so scary. I would bet that Storr moves into the starting role soon, unless Self really wants him to provide a lot of scoring for the bench. Going to be such a fun team to follow all year.

honestly think you’re underestimating mick cronin and his squad at ucla. if you could be high on houston you have to be high on ucla. just like Houston, cronin teams will always have a great defense. last year with mostly freshman and sophmores not many teams scored over 65 on them (obviously the utah game is a stain on their previous season). ucla was almost always in games because of their defense when they seriously lacked offensive consistency. But as you know mick cronin went and filled that big offensive hole by getting guys like skyy clark, dominic harris and tyler bilodeau, and thats not even mentioning returning guard dylan andrews who was the most consistent scorer during the back half of the season. cronin has turned a team of mostly young guys into one of the deepest rosters in college basketball that will make it extremely tough for teams to keep up considering mick’s overwhelming defensive tactics and now extremely deep roster. We did lose our defensive demon in adem bona to the draft but picked up william kyle out of north dakota state (might be south i forget, its one of the Dakotas). Hes a highly athletic big (albeit shorter than bona) that has the tools to fill in the shoes left by adem. regardless, i bring up houston again to say that if you’re going to be high on houston you absolutely have to be high on ucla. they should be the favorites to win the big ten and i expect them to make a big push in the postseason. as always great analysis and go bruins!!

@@tylerjohnson6455 Thanks for the comment! I’m definitely a believer in UCLA this year. I actually had them top 12 or so overall in my rankings until I made the bracket prediction. I just ended up not putting any teams that didn’t make the tourney last year as top 4 seeds. Same goes for Indiana and Arkansas. I love all 3 rosters and am curious to see how they all come together, and how soon they put it all together. I definitely trust Mick Cronin a lot more than Mike Woodson. Without a doubt, I believe UCLA will be fighting for a Big Ten title this year. I’m definitely going to be putting them in my best bets segment as a great pick for the Big Ten Champion. If this occurs, definitely a top 3 seed. Can’t wait to see what they can do this year!

It takes time to grow from one of the worst teams in power conference to top 30. Not saying it won’t happen, but history has shown it’s unlikely this quickly, so I’m not going to put them there until they prove otherwise.
@wiltchamberlainisthegoat134 ай бұрын
So there are 80 power conference teams plus some strong mid-majors too. This is why I try to explain…..it’s much harder to win an NCAA basketball championship than it is to win a Super Bowl title or an MLB or NBA title. The odds are much slimmer that your team will finish No. 1 out of 80+ teams as opposed to No. 1 out of only 32 teams or 30 teams.

obviously as a clemson fan i am biased but 42 is way too low. Our tournament success wasn’t even defined by the guys we lost, PJ Hall actually had a kind of uneventful stretch of games, as did Joe Girard. So we return almost the entire roster, have a top 20 recruiting class, and got 3 productive seniors that may not be superstar-PJ Hall-level replacements, but we covered our bases. I think we EASILY deserve top 30, even if that placement is like 25-30.
@Bracketsscience5 ай бұрын
I’m just worried that having Hall and Girard last year really freed up the other pieces around them. I’m a big fan of Chase Hunter, but I’m just a little hesitant of what’s going to be around him. I hope Lahkin can step in and be a big piece. Brad Brownell was terrific last year, and i’m hoping they can continue to be atop the ACC. Good luck to them this year!
@chasejohnson69905 ай бұрын
Interesting you have UCLA so low, the starting lineup won’t be that either. Eric Dailey is only 6’8, on a mick cronin team the starting center will be taller, likely William Kyle out of south dakota state. Sebastian Mack also probably won’t start, but will be a backup to Skyy. In the three its likely Kobe Johnson, and the 4 Tyler Bilodeau. The problem with UCLA last year was scoring, so they went out n got scorers in Bilodeau, Clark and Johnson. If Dylan Andrews continues playing the way he did towards the end of the season, scoring will not only not be a problem, but a strength. On the other hand, Mick Cronin teams play defense. With a 15-17 roster they hung in with teams like Marquette, Gonzaga and Arizona last year with such a scoring deficit. Interesting that you wouldn’t rank them higher over teams with question marks like Arizona, Duke, Purdue and Gonzaga. Teams don’t typically score more than 70 on Mick Cronin defenses, and with the surplus in scoring, the Bruins will be a title contender. A lot of guys who wont end up starting, (like Mack, Stefonovic and Mara) would probably start on a lot of these other teams, so the depth is there as well. Anyways a pretty good video, crazy how it doesn’t have a bunch of views.

Another great video. Only thing I was surprised by was you saying you haven't been excited for UCLA in a while. I found it weird because we've been a damn good team the past couple years before last year. Jaime's last year we had like 2 or 3 conference losses.. I still to this day believe if we didn't have two injured players Pac 12 Freshman of the year Adem Bona and national defensive player of the year Jaylen Clark, that we beat Gonzaga, beat UConn and go on to win #12. But I am biased. Still can't deny how great that team was when healthy. Good stuff tho.

You know ball. Nice to see UCLA getting some love. Mick went absolutely crazy in the portal. This roster has got to be a top 5 deepest roster in the country. I think this team WILL be a national contender simply on that fact, as well as the fact that Mick Cronin teams PLAY DEFENSE. Although I wouldn't be surprised from a slow start, come march this team will be scary. Most teams won't put up more than 65 points. I'd say we win the big10 tournament in our first year, but I'm not going to predict anything in march. I'm excited for this gauntlet of a schedule, playing @ Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, and Rutgers. Will be a great refreshing season after the horrors of 2023. Dylan Andrews will be one of the best point guards in the country, I only wish I could see the practices, as the battles for playing time will be insane. I also just realized this video was made BEFORE the signing of Trent Perry. God our team is stacked. Anyways, 4's up.
