Skip Barrett made an honest mistake about Billie's part in the Barrett Sisters’ harmony. She was not the middle part of the harmony. Delois was the middle part and 2nd Soprano (although Delois had an expanding top range too sometimes singing up to quick E-Flat sixes. Billie was the lowest part - first alto. However, Billie could sing up to B-Flat sixes and hold them. This wide range made her a contralto. Rodessa was the first soprano of the group singing up to E-flat sixes with ease. She also played the piano in earlier years. All three ladies were extraordinarily talented singers. However, Delois was the most versatile. She could sing soprano in a near operatic style. Then, her natural voice was strong with much color. Finally, Delois could also squall (gluttonize) like a roaring lioness! She had all three vocal techniques, and her melodic phrasing and short riffs were delectable. Delois' soprano added a distinct top in the dignified sound of the Roberta Martin Singers and the middle part of the beautiful Barrett Sisters. Their harmony was naturally tight with much power and control. I loved the Barrett Sisters!

My prayer is that I hope GOD's children will treat their bodies as TEMPLES of the HOLY GHOST. Exercise daily, eat healthy, get plenty of rest, and monitor your diet and weight! Don't let your TEMPLE become the BIG HOUSE, crippled and debilitated. With GOD, ALL THINGS are possible.

I didn’t know ms. Billie had passed away until sometime last year☹️☹️. Now ms. Porter is the only one left☹️. Just like my great grandma was, she was the only one left out of 14 children😕

Oh yes I believe that every time I need a love songs about Jesus I come to the rock that has the major BAR in its name because I know it's ho he bare us up with his loving arms. Appreciate you sharing her Birthday Celebration of Life; 78yrs Young. Oh what a Blessing! However, this is NOT a good recording. Very poor quality. Too many family members trying to take the spot light. You can only see Mrs. Washington in passing. This is supposed to be about Mrs. Washington, Not the whole family... bad quality and an opportunity spoiled. I love Mrs. Washington. I wish there were a lot more videos of her performing. This would have been great but you missed the opportunity to share (Her) with us. Anyway, Thanks for the attempt.
