Where did you find those keycaps? For such a plain colorway as beige, I wouldn't really call them "clones". They actually look pretty good and I'd love to give them a try!

great built but just a suggestion for you brother, always start the sound test with the mic sounds then switch to the camera/phone or any other sources. I like how I was surprised by the mic sound but most won't stick around to wait for that transition and think something is off with this guy's recording lol

Hey, thank you. Been watching a ton of no foam "clack" builds and I think most of them prefer not to record with a directional mic. I too feel like I prefer listening to non mic recordings for these kind of builds as it sounds more accurate for me in this case. The mic is too clean which doesn't include the reflections from walls, so it ends up sounding too tamed compared to what I hear. Then again I could switch the mic mode to omnidirectional, maybe I can try that next time!

Which one sound similar in real life? The one with a6400 or the one with Blue Yeti ?
@skeyboardi
@skeyboardi 9 ай бұрын
In this case, the a6400 sounds closer as it includes the reflections bouncing off my walls. The Blue Yeti sounds too clean, maybe if I had a treated room with minor reflections then that's how it'd sound.

PP, IMO it gives the best of both worlds. Soft yet a pretty loud rounded off sound profile that's really pleasing. CF is a close second, the really sharp loud profile and the stiffness is quite nice every now and then.

The colour in the typing test video is pretty accurate. It's not as dark as the starting video where I show the patina, I had to balance the light so the copper didn't get overexposed in brightness. It's a nice jade metallic green I'd say? Not sure how to describe.

Yeah it depends, camera mic/phone mic tend to make no foam builds sound better to people, while actual mics are so clean that they make popular foam builds sound better. Either way both don't 100% replicate the actual sound unless edited to be as close as possible.

I tried comparing a few unlubed v2u switches against factory lubed v2 and they sounded near identical to me. Didn't get the factory lube version but I'd assume the v2u factory lube would be the same as v2. Love the factory lube for the v2! Kind of wished I did a full sound test with them unlubed because now I'd say they aren't as crisp as the v2, definitely cleaner though and I'm starting to enjoy them more.

How loud and clacky is this compared to you other boards? I've noticed that you tend to build KBs on the dryer, higher pitched side which is something I've been loving lately, and there's not a lot of content available of budget KBs being built as clacky as your M1 build. I'm planning to mod my M1 similar to yours but I'm gonna use SP star meteor whites. I'm just really concerned that I might be disappointed if it turns out sounding muted and gasket-y
@skeyboardi
@skeyboardi Жыл бұрын
The M1 sounds good for the price, no flex cuts pcb and multiple plate options. It's the weakest amongst my other boards but that's also because it's the most budget alu kit, but it's still alright and is a good starter board I'd recommend for 75%. Budget kits are getting better and cheaper though, like the Cycle7 and Neo65, both capable of excellent sound without foam. Just make sure you get a board that has no flex cuts and multiple plate options. Flex cuts kills the sound quite a bit and those kind of boards rely on foam to sound foamy decently. A lot of boards are going crazy with flex cuts recently so their performance are all meh~. My recommendations would Cycle7 or Neo65 if you can grab one. Neo65 is available for order at the moment, depending on where you're located and how your vendor is handling it though. Cycle7 GB just ended so I'm not sure how to get your hands on one.
