Planing on getting the same frame but in ti-polish. Nice calm build up
@skeyboardi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yeah the clearcoated version is definitely nicer. Sadly my local lbs didn't have it in stock so I settled for this interesting blue colourway. I'll be replacing the frame with another raw alum frame that looks like a bb17 without the downward angle top tube (Really wanted to like the blue but I'm a sucker for raw looking frames). Keeping the fork to pair with the alum frame as I think it's the nicest fork except maybe a wound up fork, but that would be too expensive, haha! P.S Oh yeah I've stripped the paint off the fork's lug and bottom tip.

Nice build homie! How is this frame overall? I’m interested in shifting out my current frame for this one because its weight and I’m looking for something lighter.

I love it for the price especially that nice sharp looking fork. I've since sold it and regret my decision! Hahaha

Nice build! I didn't know this frameset exist until Carousell recommended me. Now I want to get a set of Zonda myself! Did you get it locally or imported it? I'm on a snm4130, rides fine but been looking to upgrade frame. Btw, your upper sealed bearing for the headset is not installed correctly. The first time was correct, but when you flipped it, it's orientation ended up facing upwards. The angled part of the sealed bearing should be facing downwards for upper bearings of the headset and facing upwards for the lower headset bearings. If you have to force something, most of the time a component is likely incorrectly placed. Perhaps you've already corrected it, but I couldn't tell since there's some cut-away scenes. Hope you've already fixed it.

Hey man, I know you commented a year ago and I somehow missed the notification but I feel like I should still reply you. I think you've probably gotten the Zonda already by now. Anyway to answer your question, I got it locally from one of the fixed gear sellers on Carousell, though I usually import and sell bike parts myself, well used to. I do remember some fitting issue with the headset and I did solve it if I remember correctly, heh! I sold the frame off not long after this video to play around with other frames.

hey i'm planning on my building my own bike and it's my first time building a bike any tips?
@skeyboardi3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Hmm, I'd say take your time and - Grease all your nuts and bolts - Make sure everything is installed and tightened well, especially your bottom bracket/crank/rear cog (basically your drivetrain) - If it's your first time ever with fixed gear, have brakes installed at least for a week or so - Have anything too loose or too tight and you might strip the threading or have a seized part (carbon will break if you over torque too much) That's about what I can think of right now. Have fun building :)

What is the tyre clearance of the frame and fork?

The fork can possibly fit 28mm. I'm using 25mm ultraport 2 that are bigger than 25mm for sure and there's still some space

@@gabepalmers2637 Thanks! I personally prefer the ti-polish/raw version but yeah this one is pretty unique. You can strip the paint off the fork lugs to make it look better, something like a budget woundup fork but steel :) I've got some pictures of my fork after stripping here leeyo.pixieset.com/fgrm/

tool list? building my first bike soon!
@skeyboardi4 жыл бұрын
Hmm you'll need a set of hex/allen keys for most of the bolts, a torque wrench would be better but is not a must if you're not installing carbon components. Nut wrench/ratchets for your wheelset, some uses bolts so that depends. Locking remover/chain whip for installing and removing your lockring/rear cog. Bottom bracket tool to install your bottom bracket, this depends on the kind of bottom bracket you have so you'll have to check that one out. I don't really use the chain whip though, I just use the rotafix method to tighten or remove my rear cog. Do becareful when you're using the rotafix method though as you don't have to use too much strength to tighten the cog. Holding the wheel gives you a very big leverage and using too much force might strip your rear hub threading. If you're worried about over tightening using rotafix, you can go the traditional route most people go with. Use a chain whip or just tighten by hand as hard as you can. Find an incline slope to cycle up and your cog will tighten itself. Don't backpedal though as it might loosen the cog, which is partly why we use an inclined slope, so the bike will stop due to gravity without backpedaling. Another reason for using an incline slope is so you can exert more force to tighten the cog. Once you've mashed the pedals up a slope, get off the bike and walk back down with your bike then proceed to tighten the lockring. That's about it for tools. There's also crank pullers if you decide to remove your crank arms. Lastly, grease all the threadings!
