Fascinating Rabbi! I never knew the story "behind the story"! That the Greeks wanted us to "just" assimilate. Just believe the Torah is wise, yet manmade. Wow! This is a huge inspirational story. Thank you!

Why caption keep spelling "G_d"? He IS talking about God. Jews celebrate a THING ~ the event that happened. Christians celebrate Jesus Himself. This is what God wants. Attention to Him. Not to what He did. Chanukah celebrates those who died. Christianity celebrates someone who came back to life. Chanukah celebrates WITH lights. Christmas celebrates the One who brought Light.

You don't have to use eggs. I am vegan and they can be made vegan too. Google vegan latkes recipe. Chia, or another binder, can be substituted for eggs.

Well done! Thank you so much for teaching the 7 laws. People need to understand that these 7 simple laws can be seen as the civil laws required for humanity to prosper.. These laws are universal and are common sense that would compliment any spiritual path. Follow them with love and compassion in your heart and you can find the path to success. I am learning this important lesson late in life, but I am learning these "7 laws of prosperity!"

Very well done. I appreciate the mini history lesson, too. Maybe I won't have to buy latke frozen any more. Have you tried them with malt vinegar and salt instead of sour cream? Yummy! Thank you for sharing. Excellent video.

Is there a full-text version of the English available somewhere? I'd like to say this over at the Shabbos table. Perfect for Shabbos HaGadol!

Interesting! I always learned that was my understanding that Hashem rejected Kayin's offering NOT because it was a lesser species but because it wasn't the best of what he had. Just like in the times of the mishkan/bais hamikdash, even one who couldn't afford an animal could bring a "lesser" korban mincha and Hashem accepts it.
