In the advanced/scale level package there is a graphical list and database section called Compressed BOM, which produces a quantified bill of materials together with a column for the tags e.g. K1-9, K12, K15. I think this is what you're asking for.

Well, I went to the project menu in Graphical list and then in Definition list and look for parameter export_4207 creating a new definition, as I don't know which codes to use I used the "component list" template in See electrical default installation, and then it gave an acceptable result now I need to see how to make each component show its page in the line of this graphical list.

Either manually switch symbols or tap function key F6, hold Ctrl and select the graphical elements, then select mirror and click 2 points for an axis to mirror the graphics. The same could be done with rotation if its just the graphics. Otherwise, upgrade to V8R4 :)

hi, i have a problem using the option: "commands - colors- brep- change color on all faces" does export the correct color to the 3dpdf, however when looking for greater detail using the "commands - colors- brep- change color on single face" does not export the color assigned to the 3dpdf

Yes you're right, currently these colors applied using this command are not displayed in the exported PDF, only the blocks original color is used. I've added this to the requested enhancements list.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you're enjoying the videos. There aren't any plans to release additional full tutorial videos for now. The base functionality available in V8R1 still applies to V8R4, we've just added new features which are covered in the additional video snippets. If there's anything in particular you think isn't well documented, please tell us and we'll look at creating something to help.

@@Leo-wc3bc After downloading new parts you should be able to find these in the Components panel. The equipment should link to the appropriate symbol. To see the symbols you may need to right-click in space in the symbols panel and select the properties and enable the view of the @Manufacturer symbol database. These are the ones downloaded via the web catalogue.

Hi @Irnmt2000 most equipment downloaded from the web catalog provide both circuit diagram and 3D Panel symbols. The web catalog is available through subscription from your local sales team. We do also have some additional 2D and manufacturer specific symbol databases for the circuit diagrams which we can send out on request. contact [email protected] for more information.

This usually indicates that communication with the web server is not possible. Please check that you don't have a firewall blocking access to the web catalog. The address is in the settings of the equipment manager.

Most things are possible with a database containing the project information :) Just need to clarify if you need all terminals connected on a specific potential or all terminals connected to a specific symbol.

Hi @uppalurisravanthi7277, make sure if you're adding the connection points as text to use the correct attribute for Connection - Connection, or change the attribute to this afterwards. The dots should then appear if you have the view setting switched on for connection points. Alternatively, place another symbol, right-click and exploded it and copy the connection text from there.

Hi @webprotector19 this could be one of 2 issues 1) The symbol has been created and copied around rather than placed from a symbol folder, so no symbol name will be associated with it in the bottom-right when double-clicking 2) The symbol has not been added to the list in the command GenerateLegendMapping section.

I have a doubt, but it's not about the video. I have been using this software for a long time and have a lot of development and experience in the autogen module, but now since the terminals have become like components, when I generate the auto diagram they no longer increase the numbering according to the order of the terminal strip, it simply repeats the saved number. Is there any easy way to fix this (some config) or will I have to change all my drawings to # in the terminal numbers?

In this version I can create a cross-referenced component where the first part is a component and the second part is a component not in list (except as target). In my example I don`t want combine all parts of my components for avoid duplicates on material list, so for the first part of my symbol is component and the anothers not, But I don`t got sucesfull unsing cross referencies.

In newer versions of SEE Electrical, use the 'Contacts, not specified' symbol type for the auxiliary symbols and add cross reference attributes to these and the 'Component with Aux Contacts' symbol to show the page references. Each product used will have just one set of equipment for the material list.

If you have the advanced or scale level package then you can use the report generator to add a new calculated field to the field list such as; iif([180010]= 'Circuit Diagram IEC','x',[180010]) The conditional iif statement is not available directly in the Graphical Lists.

Hello, In the BOM list, is it possible to aggregate cable lengths only by cable type or by some other attribute? E.g. description 00? I have the problem that I have the same cable types, but they don't all have the same text in the attribute "description 00"... Is it possible for the program to sum the cables by two different attributes?

The BOM is not very flexible, it will quantify lengths or number of equipment only. The report generator is much better if you have the Advanced level, and if you base the report on the Parts list (itemized) and then add your own group headers /footers to sum or count the number of occurrences.

Yes, in the BOM list (Export_3102) the field #180040 sums the total lengths of cables (or cable trays and DIN rails placed in the 2D cabinet) for each type, or the number of components of a non-cable type. The field #180041 only totals the lengths and outputs 0 for non-cable types and the field #180042 just counts the number of components or cables (ignoring the lengths) of each type.

Hi, is it possible to extract values from "View, BOM" and edit those values in report generator. Say that I want to extract AMP values for instance "C 16A 30mA", but I don't want the C (from C curve characteristic) and I don't want the "A 30mA" either, just the raw number. I know it is possible to do in excel, but it would be nice if it was possible in report generator directly. Also, is it possible to add different sources for the Report Designer, because I need values from "Editor, Components" as well, in my report. As I see it, I have to choose one source and I can't combine several sources.

In the 'Fields' list you can add new expressions which provide similar functions to excel to extract, replace, concatenate and trim text fields for the report. For the requirement of multiple data sources you can add a custom query to the report generator when designing so combine data sources (queries) where there is a link between the sources. I'm sorry but our heat dissipation calculation is specifically tailored for electrical components contained within a panel, where the panel is either placed against a wall or next to another panel, which won't help with electronic components in a car.

The best way to find a lot of people becoming used to this best light weight software is to introduce students version . the more we practice and familiar we recommend to industries to use as soon as we are employed . As software developer myself i understand what goes into it so making it free for students is difficult but i think numbers with time.

If this is for V8R4 make sure to download and install an environment (IEC - European/NFPA - North America) so there are workspace templates with .sep extension in the templates folder. This is the default location for the templates: C:\Users\Public\Documents\IGE+XAO\SEE Electrical\V8R4\Templates

Graphical stretch can be enabled using the trackers (Alt+T), and stretch of connected wires using the Electrical - Wire Rubberband command. Right-click to select Copy with Base Point or add a new keyboard shortcut by right-clicking on the menu, accessing the quick access tool bar settings and clicking through to the keyboard shortcuts. I hope this helps.

Method 1 - drag the component from the point that should be the insertion/reference point. Method 2 - right-click the symbol folder and select Save and enter X and Y or select a point on the page before entering the symbol name. Note that method 2 was added in V8R3 so earlier versions don't have this option.

In Symbols pane, find System, expand, find Symbol Orign and expand. You will find a red sight cross that you can move to a connectiono point of your symbol per say and then make your symbol as a block and drag it to the Symbols pane. When you will pick it back from the Symbol pane, your pick point will be where you had put the sight cross. Voilà!

Hello, I would like to ask you how is possible to create a single-line cable from multiple wires. Let's say 3 wires from the terminal creates a 3 cores cable. I saw the function multicore but I am not sure how is possible to work with this. Can you give me some ideas? Thank you!

OK so there is an advanced level function called Multicore which allows a single wire to be marked as having multiple cores. This can then be edited using the Multicore properties and each separate core defined by its connection at each end, color and size. This doesn't however allow a fan out of wires at either end. This isn't possible unless custom cable symbols are designed, with a gap between the 2 connection points, which is filled in with your preferred cable fan graphics.

so i have some small problems. @4:44 i can't change the PLC adress numbering method, it doesn't allow me to make the change. and i think that is why @8:30 the numbering doesn't work automaticly work and @8:53 i cant select the PLC adress.

Auto numbering for the PLC is limited to the standard and advanced level packages, could it be that you're working with the basic level? A neat workaround is to open a spreadsheet to quickly generate a sequence of addresses, copy (Ctrl+C), then paste (Ctrl+V) the 4/8/16/32 addresses while the first address is selected in the Component Properties dialog for the PLC Main.

You can download the software and environments from ige-xao-uk.com and use as a trial version for 30 days. This is advanced level but with a 3 circuit diagram page per project limit. I'm aware of many Colleges and Universities providing 'Educational' versions of the software, so its worth contacting them and asking, or getting in touch with the IGE+XAO sales team within your region.

All of the relevant folders seem to exist, but the 3d symbols are still not visible in the program. @ABB.3DModels, @Allen-Bradley.3DModels ... etc these files appear as blank screen in the program, I cannot select them.

@@erseayd OK couple of things to check. The environment link I sent was for 3D Panel V2R2 symbols. Get back to me if you have the older V2R1 since there are new features that mean the symbols won't be visible in the older version. Next, check in the symbols folder that each 3D catalogue has both a folder @Manufacturer.3DModels (containing the model files) and an index file called @Manufacturer.ses3d. Yes, any electrical panels can be designed using the 3D Panel+ package. There's functionality to insert copper with bends and hole drilling templates as well as the option to output dxf/dwg or specific Perforex or Steinhauer drill/cutout templates for any mounting surface.
