HOW TO SET A BASE POINT FOR PICK AND PLACE

Method 1 - drag the component from the point that should be the insertion/reference point. Method 2 - right-click the symbol folder and select Save and enter X and Y or select a point on the page before entering the symbol name. Note that method 2 was added in V8R3 so earlier versions don't have this option.

In Symbols pane, find System, expand, find Symbol Orign and expand. You will find a red sight cross that you can move to a connectiono point of your symbol per say and then make your symbol as a block and drag it to the Symbols pane. When you will pick it back from the Symbol pane, your pick point will be where you had put the sight cross. Voilà!
