if the waist is tight when new go up 1 size as raw denim shrinks a litlle. and if it is unsanfirized raw denim buy 1-2 sizes bigger in the waist as unsanforized denim shrinks alot in the waist and length

I'm a biker, and make no mistake about it. Any of these heavy weight jeans will blow open in a slide on asphalt. It's just a gimmick IH and other manufacturers use. They will not protect you. You need any type of kevlar infused, or kevlar lined trousers to protect you.

I broke 3 out of the 5 rules and love my jeans and how they fit, I got raw for my first pair, hemmed them before first wear and fell in love with them at first sight, although I love them just as much now that they are beginning to fade and don’t really like to cuff my jeans so I like the perfect length it gives me just a few stacks over my boots or sneakers. I don’t need others to know Im wearing selvage denim I purchase them for the quality and durability of the denim not to obtain some kind of status.

Absolutely, wash your jeans. That is common sense and proper hygiene. Never hem jeans because you can always tell and it doesn't look as good. Buy the right length jeans. Cuff them if they are too long, give them away if they are too short. I fell in love with pre-2000 US made Levi's 501 shrink-to-fit (raw denim) jeans in the late 1960s and that is what I wear almost all of the time. I still have a large supply of new ones and I'm never changing. It isn't "difficult" to shrink them down to size. All you do is wash and dry them. Selvedge doesn't matter. When it was eliminated in the 1980s nobody noticed. Never buy pre-faded jeans. That is like wearing a toupee or driving a car with a fake convertible top. The fade is more beautiful when you fade them yourself rather than being obviously artificial.

Taking advice from a guy with oversized and new looking raw denim 😂😂😂 raw denim is meant to be used abused and broken… and yes jeans were meant to be worn by working class people that’s why people started to see amazing fades because people used them! Then brands tried to copy this and they were worn unhemmed and cuffed because blue collar folks didn’t have money for a tailor It’s true spending more than a year Without washing jeans can cause more damage also having raw denim and washing them early will ruin it just buy regular designer non selvedge non raw denim non fade
