My great great great grandparents were First Galactic War veterans. Our family holds a high sense of valor and dignity when comes to war, a warrior culture you can say. But when the Second Galactic war initiated they both pressured me to join arms not in the SEAF, but in the elite Helldivers unit. I asked them "Why?" with a huge smile and a heart full of curiosity, in the end I never got a response. The expectations held by my parents were enough to convince me to fight, and on February 18th only aged 18 I enlisted. My democracy Officer stood across from me as I was putting on the B0-1 standard armor, and when I tightened the last part of my boot he said "Welcome to the front, son. The battle of Malevelon creek has just begun, and you are lucky enough to have arrived just in time, helldiver." Ending the statement with a slight pat on my shoulder. Following that, my officer introduced me to the ship and its functionality, there is even a TV to watch. Somewhat of a relief if I am able to come back, from the Creek. Being sent down with 3 other fresh recruits, I was nervous and my heart felt like it was going to burst into a thousand pieces. We all got into our respective pods and immediately launched, with a countdown. As we were descending, the pod felt unusually stiff and calm, even though we were literally falling thousands of feet from the air. There was this bright red light emitting from the top of the pod, I never knew what it was but it should serve a purpose I said. I wonder how those 3 felt, never got a chance to ask them their names, ethnicity, or generally who were they and I was scared at first. A few moments later the pod started to violently shake almost like a plane turbulence and the red light turned purple, with a crashing THUD. Seconds later the lid of the pod opened as I was being lifted up, that moment is when I saw hell alive. I took a look of the area, it had a jungle like appearance with several human corpses in field. One helldiver landed beside me and instantly got killed, their visor cracked and Inside the helmet, I saw beautiful blue eyes, now lifeless. I was able to regroup with the other 2 and we communicated hard and fought hard, 45 minutes into the mission the automatons, we called them, were gaining the upper hand. Red lasers coming out of bushes and trees, heavy armored tanks, robots with chainsaws. There was just so much I simply cant write it down, by the end of the second hour, my comrades all died and I was left alone...alone I say. Suddenly my vision turned black and I wake up with a missing right arm and a missing right leg. God knows how I am alive right now, that was long ago, im fighting the illuminate now. - last entry December 1st, 2184

I remember Calypso... not long after my first deployment. I wasn't around for Hellmire. I wasn't around for the Creek. But I remember Calypso as clear as day. The hordes of Voteless. The Harvesters who's beams melted Divers in their armor, like man-made furnaces. The sickening sound of an Overseer's polearm hitting human flesh. 3 days of hard fighting. We won. But only just.

With how Sony handles the helldivers IP, or really anything lately, I really wouldn’t get my hopes up. I believe there is a 80% chance that it will be a colossal DEI powered, politically corrected failure because they will have “cleaned” the satirical government, focussed of a non lore based character that somehow is better than everyone and also extremely bad CGI. 10 % chances that it will be a wholly unremarkable failure due to them barely following the in game story or trying too much to again cater to the modern audience. 8% chances it’s barely good enough to make a profit due to the writers having never played the game or many other reasons really. So that leaves us with only a 2% chances of actually getting something truly enjoyable and that accurately reflects what the game and its lore is.

Honestly this is the kind of HD2 content I'm willing to watch, story narrative and roleplay on the battlefield instead of the receptiveness of "News" which is just saying the same leaks and messages and post from a developer. Please keep up with this and you'll probably be one of the few good helldiver content creataion

I was late arriving at the illuminate front and it never watched any of the videos on how to fight them.. My team was feeling sassy we pushed in to the city made it about a block in before they started landing on us. It was the first time I've ever been pushed back in Helldivers.

This makes me realise just how much cooler the urban settings would be if you could hear air sirens and shit in the background

Like yeah there are animations but it’s almost the first time I’ve seen more than one video with more plot than most “machinima” type of videos on this game.
