Is this compatible with the ubiquity smart detections for vehicles and people detection specifically instead of general motion detection?
@jimt1000 Жыл бұрын
Mmmm.. Don't know the answer to this, but I would venture to say that, "no," it is not compatible with smart detections. It is simply triggered by general motion.
@JoeBarronTV Жыл бұрын
@@jimt1000 to clarify it’s only triggered by the motion detected by a camera? Or does it have its own motion detector built in?
@jimt1000 Жыл бұрын
It is triggered by the motion detected by the camera. Not from an external or separate motion detector. Suggest you build a table-top test setup first and play with the settings. It helps learn how to configure the setup. @@JoeBarronTV

If the Power goes out, are the batteries designed to keep the door locked and power the battery control, receiver, timer ect? But if the house Wi-Fi and router are out as well due to power outage, you have no control of the unit via WI-FI correct?
@jimt10002 жыл бұрын
That is correct. Assuming you have a power outage at your house, you'll not have WIFI to control the lock remotely. However, the batteries will keep the lock energized via connection through the controller for a given period of time. I'm not certain what that given period of time is as I've not tested this for any long period. It's dependent on the Amp-Hour rating of the batteries. But I will tell you that I've had a few outages for a few hours (blown area transformer, etc.) and the batteries kept the gate locked and, therefore, secure.
@emilschaffroth62472 жыл бұрын
@@jimt1000 Thank you for the reply! I have a few other questions. After watching this video I purchased most of this set-up for the magnetic locks at my retail store since I was having no locks during power outages. The power source going to the charge controller is 12.5 Volts, does this cause a battery charging issue since it's a low voltage for a 12 volt battery? Also, Is there a way to have the power for the door locks to be drawn off the power supply first instead of the battery? I would prefer to have the battery used as a back up in case of an outage, not the first source of power. As of now it appears to pull from the battery first causing it to discharge every evening.
@jimt10002 жыл бұрын
@@emilschaffroth6247 The system I have shown, the with components listed, is a 24VDC system. The batteries, even though 12 volts each, are wired in series thereby resulting in a 24 volt backup battery hookup. The magnetic lock I also specified is a 24 volt lock. So, if you're going to use a 12 volt supply, you'll need to have a 12 volt magnetic lock. You'll also need to hook the batteries up in parallel, not series. You'll also need to be sure the keypads, transmitter, etc. all will work on 12 volts. In terms of your question about the power being drawn off the power supply first, that's exactly what's happening and the charge controller is governing this relationship. So, no worries there. I highly recommend, if you're going to follow this design and the components as specified, you use a 24 volt system as intended and follow these instructions precisely. I've had 3 such installations myself and others have done several more. In all cases, the installation went smoothly and has worked with much success. I don't think a 12 volt system will work with these components. Hope this helps. Good luck with your installation.

@jimt10003 жыл бұрын
I’m not understanding your question. Are you wanting to know how to make this an all 12v system?
@tintin05953 жыл бұрын
Yes you have 24v and some other devices like mag locks and electronic strikers are 12v there is any way you can put some kind of list or something for 12v systems
@jimt10003 жыл бұрын
@@tintin0595 The system as shown is all 24V. This includes the mag lock which is 24V as well. If you have 12V, you can use most of the components I'm thinking, but you'd need to wire the battery backup in parallel, not in series as shown. I would look online at all the components and see their compatibility with 12VDC. In my research, I found the mag locks most commonly 24V. But I'm thinking these components would work with 12VDC too. Just check online (for example, I know the solar controller would work wth 12V). Good luck with your install.

The Arlo go cameras are junk!!!! Don't waste your money. They go offline all the time. This is the worst camera I have ever owned. I use it as a security camera in my home. I am always having to reboot the camera. Don't waste your money!!!!

I've used an Arlo for years as a trail camera for years. I'm having an issue with the battery charge port so just watched reviews on all the latest trail cameras compare re-evaluate the differences. It may not have the resolution, but I've really liked it's ability to at any time look at live video. That's capability view video and not pictures is just now getting to the newest trail cameras. You're going to pay around $550 for a camera with these features. In addition all the trail camera companies appear to nickle dime you and charge you per picture on the cell plans vs just paying for data. I've gotten very accustomed to being able to see video instead of pictures and also to see live video anytime I want.. For those reasons I'm likely to going to buy another Arlo Go or may even their budget competitor ReoLink a shot. After having video I just can't go back to pictures.

Thank you for this video. very helpful because I was considering getting this camera for the very purpose of observing wildlife. Like you said it seems like a good surveillance camera and probably not so much a game camera especially for the price
@jimt10004 жыл бұрын
Yep... For game observation, it's hard to beat the Spartan Camera. You can get your own sim card from AT&T (or Verizon) or use the sim card from them and sign up for their service. The interface, at first, seems clunky. But once you figure it out, it's a great device to use and well worth it. I use mine every day to observe the shape of our whitetails and I share the camera with a few buddies who help me make the observations. Good luck...

I agree. I have 3 Arlo go cameras on my ranch and it works great! I don’t think his example footage was on that setting, but looked more like it was on the low def setting. The motion sensor has captured some great footage and allowed me to study their movement throughout the season, learning the patterns. Also, there are three settings on the Arlo go that improve the video quality. It will eat up more battery life but it’s very clear. I pay $75 per month for all three cameras, that all share 10gb worth of memory. Cant beat that!

How do you keep the hydro on a cutter running without holding that thumb wheel?
@jimt10004 жыл бұрын
After you get the cutter head running using the right thumb wheel, you "lock" the running speed in with a press of the lower left button on the left joystick. To unlock the cutter head, either hit the lower left button again on the left joystick or simply move the thumb wheel on the right joystick again. Your controls may be slightly different given the package that came with your machine, but this is how it works on my unit.
