It's commendable to try to keep a tradition alive. But ultimately, it's just another hobby that costs the planet more trees.

I bet one person’s collection of factory made shoes is costing the planet a lot more than all of the wooden shoes around right now

fascinating! we have similar wood shoes here in Austria with a deeper cut for the foot, I wonder how these are made

People have arches and insteps of different heights, whatever the length of the foot. Do you take custom orders...? A person could step into a pail of clay, carefully lift out and leave an impression of the risen of the foot... Is it possible to have custom clogs made?

This man is a treasure. His goal is to keep the scars, but shine them up a bit, to keep that history and not erase it by making it look new. Excellent philosophy not just for leather cases, but for people as well.

This series of 5 videos, are the best at clearly demonstrating the refurbishment of a an old leather case I have seen on KZbin. The craftsmanship gives valuable hints and tips, to help sympathetically refurbish the case and repair it, without destroying the age and character. Totally excellent!

A wonderful insight of a Clog maker at his craft - Cobblers - Clog makers - Saddlers - Farriers - Farmers - and a whole lot more required the ingenuity & tool making skill set of a good Blacksmith and I feel they still don't get the recognition and praise deserved for their broad and universal ability that served Great Britain so posthumously and so humbly for centuries !

This is beautiful, I've learned a lot to on how to see my crafts from now on. I mean, I'm not a carver/caligrapher, I'm a writer, but I guess the messages that he gave (especially at the end of the video) are applicable to any situations.

would i be able to buy soles like that? I need 'all natural chemical free' shoes and was thinking of making my own sandles using cloth instead of leather.
