This man is a treasure. His goal is to keep the scars, but shine them up a bit, to keep that history and not erase it by making it look new. Excellent philosophy not just for leather cases, but for people as well.

Martin, I'm working on a rebuild for a vintage King Zephyr saxophone case from the 1940s. Sample case (not mine) looks like this lh3.ggpht.com/-GEMb_9r711g/Tfaxqj4uGDI/AAAAAAAAEa4/-aiPDmF3byM/s800/KingT299xxx32.jpg My questions are: * any tips on replacing the leather (leatherette?) strapping, which is 38mm? * what would be a good ounce weight to use (thinking 5 or 6 oz?) * How do I do the corners? * any way this is a DIY job, or should I pay someone?
