Ofcourse! You can buy or sell crypto as long as you have a SIN number but always remember to use trusted crypto exchanges and read thoroughly the provincial crypto rules of tax reporting; Finally investing and trading are two different things, while you may be able to invest, trading or day trading could result in other implications so make sure you meet the eligibility like having a work permit etc. Hope that helps :)

Day trade is only when you sell the stock same day; but remember short term trading like selling after a few days can also count as business activity for which you will be taxed differently in Canada if CRA notices. so if you are a student and want to invest, its a good idea to hold it for atleast few weeks. Always double check the guidelines by IRCC and CRA before making any frequent trades! Thats my opinion :) Hope that helps!

@geetishasija3380 there is no set limit or fixed time you must hold a stock. It all depends on what is the purpose you are trading with. If you want to make short term profit, thats trading. If you are buying and holding thats investing. Usually if its day trading in particular, CRA might count it as business and tax fully. But selling a stock on the 2nd or 3rd day is not day trading by definition.

You could try emailing the staff, the email should be on their website. However, so far i havent seen any non-UW student there because all job applications go through UW internal portal That being said if you are interested in entrepreneurship you can check out velocity at uw which takes students from everywhere.

No, tfsa is an account type. Wealthsimple and cibc are financial institutions. So you can have tfsa in each institution. However, tfsa comes with a contribution limit. Any money you put in tfsa across all financial institutions should not exceed the limit that government gives you! I have some videos on tfsa coming up so hopefully you will find them useful :)

Information shared by this brother is good. However, Stephanie's course in udemy is only good in terms of the content but not in terms of the French accent. Pagal ho jaoge usko sunke. I threw his course back to udemy within few slides. Instead, opted for Ranga Karnam's SAA course (Gajab ka bandha hai). Content wise same as Stephanie but explanation is Crystal clear, language and accent bhi perfect. I heard his videos at 2x speed and was able to finish the course much faster. Stephanie ka course normal speed main bhi irritate kartha hai. Bheja fry. I would highly recommend this guy. Trust me, Ranga Karnam is Stephanie's Baap.

Actually day trading is safer on cash account than margin accounts because you are not borrowing money so you dont owe anyone anything. However you may not be able to execute short sales or trade options depending on what institution you choose. Its also important to note that you need to eligible to work in canada if you are day trading any stock from being physically inside canada.
