ky hm stock 1st day lekr 2nd or 3rd day sale kre to bhi vo day trade me count hoga !?

Day trade is only when you sell the stock same day; but remember short term trading like selling after a few days can also count as business activity for which you will be taxed differently in Canada if CRA notices. so if you are a student and want to invest, its a good idea to hold it for atleast few weeks. Always double check the guidelines by IRCC and CRA before making any frequent trades! Thats my opinion :) Hope that helps!

@raghavcanada according to u few weeks means how many !?
@raghavcanada19 күн бұрын
@geetishasija3380 there is no set limit or fixed time you must hold a stock. It all depends on what is the purpose you are trading with. If you want to make short term profit, thats trading. If you are buying and holding thats investing. Usually if its day trading in particular, CRA might count it as business and tax fully. But selling a stock on the 2nd or 3rd day is not day trading by definition.

Cash account pe day trading safe hai?could you please explain
@raghavcanada3 ай бұрын
Actually day trading is safer on cash account than margin accounts because you are not borrowing money so you dont owe anyone anything. However you may not be able to execute short sales or trade options depending on what institution you choose. Its also important to note that you need to eligible to work in canada if you are day trading any stock from being physically inside canada.

Did you do day trade here?
@raghavcanada7 ай бұрын
Yes technically it was a day trade burying and selling a security within the same day. However, this one may not have any tax implications as you have to be a patterned day trader for that. This was only a one time thing.

Can an international student invest in crypto in Canada??
@raghavcanada19 күн бұрын
Ofcourse! You can buy or sell crypto as long as you have a SIN number but always remember to use trusted crypto exchanges and read thoroughly the provincial crypto rules of tax reporting; Finally investing and trading are two different things, while you may be able to invest, trading or day trading could result in other implications so make sure you meet the eligibility like having a work permit etc. Hope that helps :)
