This is interesting as I’ve had right hip pain for almost a year. I was active prior, long walks, played pickleball and now I’m sore and limp with mild, aching pain. An x-ray was done and showed mild arthritis in both hips but I’m being scheduled for a CT scan, not MRI. Don’t both do the same?? So, what is the fix?

Is it better to have contrast when looking for tears, ect? Have same exact edema. No other significant injuries could be found. Had MRI w/o contrast.

you have to examine the patient. this area is complex. the si joints, pyriformis, tye aciatic nerve as well as the L5/S1 can contribute to pain in this area. the caudal nerves are near by but are often forgotton. however even the posterier caudal nerve lies too anterior in this case to cause the symptoms. imaging is invaluable but it must be preceeded by adequate clinical examination or things will be missed.

I’ve had shots, vaccines all my life never had a problem I’m a health care worker as well. It’s been a week since I received a Tdap booster & I don’t ever remember it feeling this bad, painful, numb even a week later? I wake crying in pain & unable to move my upper arm/shoulder. Never heard of this until I googled why I’m still hurting. Is this normal ? 😢

Hello. I have been suffering from migraines every day. Neck pain. Eyes hurting. That makes me dizzy and have vertigo as well. I got an MRI for my brain. But I’m wondering if migraines cause an imbalance where I get dizzy? It’s affected every area of my life to the point I can’t work. What are the treatments for the migraines and vertigo?

I'm 34, at least a partial SL rupture, a small ganglion cyst, and damage to the voleal insertion of the TFCC. I'm conflicted, surgery or not. I don't want it to advance.. for now, it just feels unstable and painful only in specific motions. Had a traumatic wrist injury 8 months ago

It's a long shot, but my MRI came back and my patellar tendon was white, which I've been feeling what seems to be patellar tendinopathy but a couple doctors (non-specialized) have said it's maltracking. But MRI doesnt have my patella in any degree of lateral or vertical misalignment like you've described

People rarely have no symptoms, pain is very severe in a lot of us. I'm a female and was diagnosed at 37. Also I'm fused throughout most of my spine. I have a large anterior osteophyte like this except it spans c2-c7 at least with a protrusion at c3-c4 that causes dysphagia. I'm also no longer able to vomit. The pain is extremely bad. I can no longer turn my head so I almost never drive. I have to use a straw to drink. I can't look up. I have very little quality of life. I saw a neurosurgeon a few years ago and was told that it's too severe to try to remove such a large osteophyte so I'm out of luck. As a 44 year old female it's scary when I hear that only elderly men get this, I don't know how I'm supposed to live another 30+ years with this continuing to progress. Any suggestions doctor?

Hi, I’m sorry you have this. I’m a 44 female, I was diagnosed at 39. I have the exact symptoms as you. Do you have PCOS and or Diabetes? I too can’t turn my neck. I get pain management treatments (RF ablations) and laying on my stomach is horrible because I can’t turn my neck to breathe. I’m under the care of multiple doctors. It took me seeing 5 surgeons until I found one that would do surgery on my neck to help with spinal cord compression. It was with a university specialist that I found help. Local doctors at private hospitals didn’t want the liability. Are you in the USA or outside? I know healthcare is different in other countries.

@@shellyrae777 I'm currently 44 as well, though my diagnosis was a little earlier. I'm in Michigan in the US. I am diabetic, and from my reading this is common. It looks to me like DISH is associated with metabolic disorder and is likely a metabolic bone disease. I have tried the RFA ablation but it only made my pain worse. At this rate I'm going to end up on a feeding tube more than likely in the next year or two. I have extreme pain in my neck and shoulder area, I mean I have it everywhere but that's my worst area. I would really like to go to the Mayo clinic but I can't afford to travel that far so I don't know what I'm going to do. My quality of life is very low and it's really hard to keep moving forward with this pain.

@@samremesz9532 I’m so sorry. That really sucks. I know how hard it is. I have a pain management doctor that gives me morphine, dilaudid, & Naproxen. that helps take the edge off, but I’m terrified what’s going to happen when he retires. I see you’re far away from any teaching hospital? Even a small one? I suggest not to give up. I live in New Jersey, near Philadelphia. I guess it’s the only good thing about NJ, docs tripping on each other, that and the ocean. But I do believe you can find someone to help you. Yes, diabetes is the common tread we have. I went on a mild ketogenic diet, eating 50 net carbs a day and it helped my symptoms tremendously. It’s hard to stick with though. I’ve also started counseling to help me cope. I’m trying not to look to far in the future. Heck maybe the “drones” will solve that issue, lol. But, don’t give up. If you can, get online and look for another doctor. Some are real asses. I’ve learned not to lay my whole history on them during the first visit, Sometimes the worst we sound and look the more the doctors don’t want to help us.
