Well done! I've finished all the Metroid games except for the NES original, I've never needed to look up a guide and even with one this game just doesn't feel good to play. 🙂

Thanks for the speed run down memory lane. I played Metroid as a kid and never finished it - I didn’t have the patience or skill to figure out the patterns in order to kill Mother Brain. Fascinating how you can finish the game without spin attack, bombs, long jump boots, long beam, more energy, etc. I never saw or even heard of the door trick you used a few times, nor did I know about the hidden energy tanks you used. Very cool. Well done with such an iconic game.

My theory was always the dream circuit was a dream because they weren't gonna make Mike Tyson a canon character in the Nintendo World, so when the contract expired they created a character that was the PERFECT Boxing Champ, and Mac would face him in his homeland of Dreamland

ok wait arent there only 3 bosses and theyre all required to beat the game??? how does this differ from any%?

@tanne_l there's a trick in any% called the "bridge skip" which allows you to beat the game without defeating both mini bosses. That's the main difference. One of the stipulations of the All Bosses category is that it's required to beat both Ridley and Kraid. Hope that makes sense!

Headcanon: Mr dream after losing to Little Mac and losing his title as world champion he retired from boxing and became a boxing trainer. His student, Mr Sandman. Under his teaching Mr Sandman became the champion in the Wii title.

the thing about the palette swapping isnt FULLY correct. tyson is a palette swap of honda yes, but every fighter in the game (except king hippo) has a body double counterpart (soda pop and macho, tiger and kaiser, joe and don, and bull and sandman)

Unpopular opinion: i think bald bull 1 is harder than mr sandman. That bull charge is nearly impossible to counter man. Mr sandman is challanging, but once you get the head body combo down on him you are fine.
