Because this strat was found for and used by speedrunners, and it's faster than riding around the cliffs or flying up there. A LOT faster.

@@daniels7624 the west elizabeth one is newer - people used to use getting arrested to get in, but that took all of forever. I think speedrunners found the modern version of this route.

For PC port players: you can also use a carriage back to mcfarlane ranch from blackwater, it may look buggy once you select it but itll bring you there if you skip the ride

PC, still works. Thanks! Update. But West Elizabeth doesn't, sadly. Update 2. It does work! But you need to start on the left side of the railroad, near waterfall where game WILL recognize you are in tall trees, but you can't camp there. So after game recognized it, got to the video location carefully and camp there.

Does summoning the War Horse not make you lose your mythical horse?

You can use a hitching post to get the mythical horse back if you do that before you reload the save file. If not, the war horse deed gives you a horse that's equally as fast as the horses of the apocalypse, you just need to know how stamina management works. Alternatively, when you complete the game, or if you play "slow" enough, you'll get another horse guaranteed. TLDR: Yes, No, and it's a small price to pay.

It's something that I've been doing since last year, just quietly. I'm probably not going to be doing more MontaiL maps - he doesn't like speedrunning, I just wanted to do this one out of spite. Honestly speaking, the 2nd and 3rd maps are great to explore and look at, but the dark room in map 2 sucks and the 3rd map isn't fun to race through. I just wanted a time under 30 minutes - somehow I did it in under 25.
