I reckon it's something about how throwables are coded. You used to be able to "fake throw" them, and my god was that fake throwing glitch powerful.

@@SwedishWinston Look up the youtuber "Findlesticks" and look into his glitch package videos. Some of the stuff he showed off would've been huge for speedrunning if it weren't for that it's all 1.0 stuff that we can't use anymore.
