I have never had an amp die from dust but I did fry one using a shop vac once. Do not touch anything to anything inside that amp. If you do remove dust blow it out with a can of duster and do not touch anything inside the amp.

I just bought this amp. Its playing maybe about 3hours and I don't like it yet. I was using old Sony stereo amp on MOSFETs and 2 x 50wpc and sounds much warmer for me and has much more bass and even sound stage was bigger, dipper. This Marantz has very clear sound maybe even to clear for my ears anyway. The bass its not too deep - at first few seconds I thought that bass is still in the cardboard box lol, quite a lot high frequency , treble and could be too much for someone. Marantz build quality is very good, well built and really nice looking amp for this money. I have wharfedale 230 connected to this amp and all together is bit too bright where with Sony was perfect. I connected subwoofer Gale 10inch 100watt rms to get more bass. I hope its become more warmer after breaking in/few weeks this amp . If You want to buy it I advise to get demo before buying.

@@plusforce hi, yes i did they are both great I chose to use Marantz with 926's in the main room as it has better connectivity than the Rotel, coax and optical for TV duties, one thing it is lacking though is Bluetooth but I use the ifi Zen blue so no issues. The Rotel is also an excellent amp but it lacks a bit of weight in the lows compared to the Marantz.

I’m recently purchased PM6007 to replace Yamaha AS501 because of spare part unavailable. To my surprise PM6007 sound like from much higher league. When I tested with Bon Jovi Live at Madison Square Garden blu ray (many reviewers complained that audio sound decent or bad including me). I can literally hear clearly individual instruments with my normal average volume. The details, atmosphere and soundstage literally blow my mind. In fact I was testing 3 days continuously just to make sure before I posted. In fact my wife now like to join me for Blu-ray movies that beforehand she have less interest. My system consists of: LG 48C2 Oled TV, Reavon UBR-X100 4K blu ray player, Marantz PM6007 amp, Mission 780S speakers (1994 model still going strong)with bi wire, Paradigm PDR100 subwoofer and connectivity are Audioquest, Chord Company and QED. No. Its a great amp full stop. Anything more will be money down the drain. I started off with Marantz 30 years ago after several changes I am back to the Marantz that wins top reviews. As age increases your hearing decreases that's a fact of life, your throwing money away after your mid life. Go for a hearing check regular you will be shocked. I like it when all these hifi tekkies get professional & don't take into account everyone has different hearing, yet they say buy this or that, half of them haven't lived yet. What I can say although partially deaf in one ear & scarred ears in the other audition for the best detail you can get out of an amp then position your speakers to suit the best experience toeing & tilting, I call myself the deaf audiophile. I will end with my best system for me its the Marantz pm6007 amp & the cd6007 with a rega planar 3 2021 model with B & W 607s2 silver anniversaries they are bright & clear for my hearing. I use a nobsound amp in the bedroom & my old q acoustics 3020i's speakers, bluetoothed from a samsung s22 ultra which is attatched to a 500gb hard drive with 800 flac albums on, good enough & fun as a second cheapo when the wife's watching TV in the lounge. Question, why is it no hifi expert on youtube, shops or in magazines ever questions the fact we all have different hearing ranges & levels yet makes recommendations. 🤔

I have one and it's brilliant. As always you have to take price into consideration and at £500 it is exceptional in my opinion. I think you have to go at least twice the money before you start to hear an improvement on sound in my opinion. I use it with the marantz CD 6007 and a pair of tannoy dc6t revolution speakers. I use high quality RCA cables and it sounds great with all types of music especially folk and classical. Like all amplifiers it sounds better when it's warmed up. Good value, Good sound as long as the other equipment used with it is of good quality as anyone into hifi will tell you.

I do possess these & a rega p3 for vinyl. Nothing should obstruct the units by placing items on them, thats a no, no when playing, as for adjusting bass/ treble I don't know why they have them they are finely tuned machines & your not playing back as the artist intended. Dust can mostly be solve by putting in a rack system allowing about 3 inches gap, you will still get dust but not as much, you can cover the vents with some material when not in use. At least you have good taste in brands, not my type of music as I am more soul but with the odd bit of Queen & bit of other laid back styles. Nice room you got.

I like to use a vacuum cleaner brush on my amp. All amps need the ventilation to keep things cool inside while operatting, especially output stage and power board. A little dust won't affect it, but if you feel there is too much, you can UNPLUG it, remove the cover screws and cover, and use Blow Off to blow out any dust. A mini vac with brush is fine, too, as long as you are careful to contact the boards and parts ONLY with the brush. I have refurbished quite a few Seventies amps and receivers, and these methods work well for me. Mostly, just take care not to scrape traces on boards or bend any parts that stand off the boards. Also, careful never to touch the Big Filter caps (or the leads connecting them to the board) on any amp as they store power for a while even with amp unplugged.

No, it's not... It's an amp made by a cooperation to cater to people who are not technically minded with little or no electrical knowledge. I have an amplifier made in 1978, SPORTING BETTER SPECIFICATIONS than this $HIT amp, and well the build quality of this aforementioned amp speaks for itself, it still works great. BTW there's no such thing as breaking in an amplifier, if you look on the datasheet of an electrical component such as a electrolytic capacitor most notable example, you will see they have a finite lifetime.

Before you knock this amp remember you may have an amp made in 1978 but how much did this 1978 cost? If the amp bought then was a very expensive amplifier then it isn't fair to compare them. To get the sound quality this marantz produces back in 78 was expensive compared to today this is because we have progressed. It's like tvs in the 60s cost far more than tvs today but I know which gives the best picture. Today's amps are better considering what they cost. If you want an amp which has the build quality and sound quality of expensive amps from the 70s then think more five to ten thousand pounds rather than five hundred. There were amps on the market in the 70s which cost the equivalent of many weeks wages. This marantz is less than one and a half weeks wage. NO COMPARISON I SAY.

What utter rubbish you spout. The main japanese designer of marantz equipment was world renowned for his expertise and our ears know what we like & our head tells us what tech we need from it, stick to your old amp by all means but don't trash others who have knowledge of what we like. I am one of the oldies in my mid 60's who has owned amps and hifi seperates since I was 18, I moved on to newer tech with a great sound upgrading a new system roughly every 7 years I have owned Marantz plus others in the past but recently gone back to Marantz not only because the sound is what I prefer but the fact their tech is up to date with the digital age which I moved with into high res files from the new marantz cd6007usb as well as vinyl on a rega p3, I also stream via Bluetooth depending on my preference using the files on my pc & samsung s22 ultra mobile via high res. I could pretend I am still an old man stuck in the past still enjoying a worn out looking dated amp & equipment but people move with the times so does the tech. How's your hearing compared to when you got that old amp, guarantee you don't hear it at your age as it really should sound.

@@ENGLISHISBEST marantz is a great product I agree 100%. I wanted a sound quality which the pm 6007 achieves but couldn't afford it back in the 70s. Today it is affordable compared to back then this I believe is called progress. Anyone who's thinking of spending a lot of money on a system let's say ten grand or more then for Pete's sake do your research you just may find that spending half that gets you what you want and are satisfied with. A ten grand amp is not necessarily better than a five grand amp and that goes for all HiFi products.

So basically this amp is great, if you have nothing to compare it to... THD, IMD, SINAD, DF, weight (build quality), class a/ab/h/g/d; none of that matters as long as you have a certain name on the amp, or it is "newer" that makes it better.
@Kristijan.
@Kristijan. 2 жыл бұрын
Well not entirely sure what you mean by that. In my previous video about this amp I talked about the importance of testing and comparing it to other models, to me it was the sound characteristics you get for the price, compared with other models tested on the same speakers that justified the purchase for me.
