I appreciate you guys checking out the original video. Here's a short update with a few things I like and one big thing I don't. Remember to keep stuff off off of your amp while in use and I would also recommend not putting stuff that could scratch it on top of it. Anyways, if you like this update video, help me get these subscribers up. As always, peace.

I like to use a vacuum cleaner brush on my amp. All amps need the ventilation to keep things cool inside while operatting, especially output stage and power board. A little dust won't affect it, but if you feel there is too much, you can UNPLUG it, remove the cover screws and cover, and use Blow Off to blow out any dust. A mini vac with brush is fine, too, as long as you are careful to contact the boards and parts ONLY with the brush. I have refurbished quite a few Seventies amps and receivers, and these methods work well for me. Mostly, just take care not to scrape traces on boards or bend any parts that stand off the boards. Also, careful never to touch the Big Filter caps (or the leads connecting them to the board) on any amp as they store power for a while even with amp unplugged.

Glad you like it! Don't worry for the dust! I have multiple audio devices and one of them (high power audio amplifier) was in a night club for 2 years every weekend playing strong with 2 internal fans blowing air and dust everywhere inside it and never had a problem with it. Water on the other side...

I really appreciate the input 🙏 I used to DJ at a college bar years ago so i remember the fear of alcohol getting on everything, it could definitelyy be worse than dust haha

I'm glad this amp worked out for you. I wanted it to for me but I noticed myn couldn't deal with higher volume after 10 (volume control) and overheated pretty quick. I also had a hum from the drivers of the speakers just after 9 and got louder with raising volume. Maybe I got a bad one but I was pretty dissipointed. Lucky I noticed early enough for an exchange.

Thanks for the video. It's good to hear a review from someone with sound constraints. I live in a London conversion flat, so listen to headphones mostly. But prefer amp and speakers.

If dust encroaching is a problem, I suggest using a small hand held vacuum cleaner. I also use the 6007 amp, but mine is inside an open fronted unit , so dust isn't so much of a problem. By the way the amp sounds superb. Punches way above its price tag. Also,loads of inputs .

I understand about the dust problem I keep a towel over my phono and reciever when not in use not pretty but keeps the dirt out.

I have never had an amp die from dust but I did fry one using a shop vac once. Do not touch anything to anything inside that amp. If you do remove dust blow it out with a can of duster and do not touch anything inside the amp.

You should use a vacuum with an upholstery attachment. Preferably a small vacuum specifically for these purposes. Picks up dust from irregular surfaces nicely.

thanks for the follow-up video. i’m considering the marantz pm6007 for vinyl and cd playback in a small room also, and if dust is your main gripe with it, that’s not a bad thing because it has nothing to do with sound quality or anything like that. i can easily cover the unit (when not in use) and keep some microfiber cleaning cloths nearby to wipe it clean. only thing holding me back from getting this is that the marantz pm7000n looks interesting, too. choices.
@Kristijan.

I think the 7000n is a better unit but if you’re dealing with a small room you could pocket the extra $300 and get this, in my opinion you wouldn’t need the extra wattage per channel in that environment, haven’t listened to the 7000n but 6007 sounds good to my ears

@@Kristijan. i’m sure the 6007 will be fine in a small room. i’m not really after the extra power, although it doesn’t hurt for futureproofing if i decide to move the amp to a different space. in your use, does the 6007 get hot?
@Kristijan.

Nothing concerning during room temperature use, just slightly warm after a few hours. If it’s up against a window like i have it i try to keep a shade down to prevent any unnecessary heat load on it

I do possess these & a rega p3 for vinyl. Nothing should obstruct the units by placing items on them, thats a no, no when playing, as for adjusting bass/ treble I don't know why they have them they are finely tuned machines & your not playing back as the artist intended. Dust can mostly be solve by putting in a rack system allowing about 3 inches gap, you will still get dust but not as much, you can cover the vents with some material when not in use. At least you have good taste in brands, not my type of music as I am more soul but with the odd bit of Queen & bit of other laid back styles. Nice room you got.

You need hifi furniture shelves to protect it from dust. I have a marantz too but all in one melody X. And it's powerful enough for my bedroom. I don't need to turn up volume either and I still get room filling sound.

So basically this amp is great, if you have nothing to compare it to... THD, IMD, SINAD, DF, weight (build quality), class a/ab/h/g/d; none of that matters as long as you have a certain name on the amp, or it is "newer" that makes it better.
@Kristijan.
@Kristijan. Жыл бұрын
Well not entirely sure what you mean by that. In my previous video about this amp I talked about the importance of testing and comparing it to other models, to me it was the sound characteristics you get for the price, compared with other models tested on the same speakers that justified the purchase for me.

This guy is just a miserable old soul, I just envisage him sitting on his porch at his run down wooden shack with his banjo the comparing that as better when someone says they bought a Fender & Gibson guitar. It's just age gets to some people.
