Love this film. I bought the DVD not too long ago.

Looks more like 1943. Not 1983. Feel sorry for those kids.

The restored image quality on the recent DVD is far superior to the poor quality source for this upload, with no whited out faces. Why William Fox, a brilliant child actor of the time, later changed his name to James Fox, I haven't the foggiest.

If you want a bit of an idea of what these boys went through, read "Stand Before Your God" by author Paul Watkins. It chronicles his days and nights in the Dragon School and in Eton. An excellent read, and very reminiscent of this movie.

@ohhrichie Definitely!! For more German guys, the movies "Before the Fall" and "Summer Storm" are full of them. Max Riemelt, who plays the main character, Friedrich, in "Before the Fall" will take your breath away with his beauty.
