It's funny, you used the same comfort positions that I used on my old R1. They are such good looking bikes. Your mods make your R1 look great! I love that blue and the exhaust is really noticeable on video, it sounds awesome!!

The R1 makes me feel like I'm on a racebike. I feel like I can take corners on an R1 better than on any other sportbike I have ridden. I owned a 1999 R1 and a 2007 R1. I have never owned or ridden a cross-plain R1, and the latest generation looks and sounds so awesome. I agree it is painful for long distances and each time I had an R1 I also had a comfort bike. A 1998 ZX9R with the first one, and a 2008 ZX10R with the second R1. I have a 21'GSXR1000R now, so my goal is to get an R1 before they go out of production. R1's, IMO, attack corners the best out of Japan's production 1000cc sportbikes.

I have a 2019 R6 and it’s a hoot on the street. Only gripe is the riding position. I’ll be changing it for an MT09SP in a year or two, I’m just not done with a screaming 4 cylinder yet 😇

Sport bikes in general are dumb on the street. Uncomfortable, expensive to insure, theft magnets, bad gearing for the street. 1000s are worse than 600s in a lot of ways, especially if you have to sit in the heat.

At least they aren't as bad as 550s or 650s, look at it that way.

Bro 600cc are fucking awesome for the street it's the sweet spot an the 1000cc are to much for the street my r1 shines out on the highways before u ask I own a 2008 r6 an a 2023 r1

Well I go above the 1000s... my zx14 is an amazingly great street bike. Don't have to run it up high into the revs for your power. And in my neck of the wood we get lots of wind so the weight is great. Do yourself a favor and give one of these fantastic beasts a try.

I do ride a 600 and have to say it keeps up very good, it is not as fast as a 1000 but i can confirm it is still fast at lower rpm (6000rpm) Also when you do rev them out you are gonna have a lot less trouble with police than revving a 1000 out. 600 plenty of power, 1000 more usable torque.

Having ridden multiple >1kL bikes, K1200s, EBR 1190SX, Yam R1 the 600's are just noise makers and I don't understand why they roll around like they are the bomb. To each their own but not for me. Enjoyed the vid. One thing they do better than the R1? Gas mileage, 25mpg is real.

I was in the chair and he was talking about the shiny red bike outside (Ducati). He thought it was overpriced and didn't understand why it was special. I told him about the desmodromic valve system and advanced fuel injection. He looked it up on his phone and was shocked. I had more to say, but that was enough for him to question his thoughts on high performance sportbikes. He will never know what a triple digit wheelie feels like!

I ride a Harley and a Honda CBR 600 F3. Honestly, some of the Harley guy's do need to fix their attitude and realize that having fun is more about speed on a sport bike than the down low rpm torque fun that Harley's get. That is how it is for me anyways.
