If you want variability with Thunder Road, Choppe Shoppe is the perfect expansion. Every driver is unique and you assign each of your cars a unique ability.

I have a huge soft spot for this game. 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with MS, one of my symptoms was some cognitive decline. A friend recommended board games to work my brain. Went to a game store and some customers roped me into a game of Euphoria. I bought it on the spot. Got me into the hobby. It still hits my table several times a year.

Thank you for this informative review. Very helpful. This game looks so beautiful and vibrant. That is disappointing to hear about the character interactions and the endings. Hopefully with a couple more play throughout that improves.

Fun video. I think it's a unique idea to board game channels. I love how you're willing to revisit an opinion. That shows thoughtfulness.

I'm really behind what Quinns from SU&SD said once about a review being a snapshot of time and your feelings about a game at that time. Anything can impact how a review of a game turns out, so it's always nice to revisit and see how you feel at different points.

I called Arcs at 3 then thought to myself, maybe it would be at 5 because of the length of the game and since maybe shorter, lighter or 2 player games would be higher.

It's a funny one on the list with how everything else is either very light or non-confrontational. It does generate cool stories, win or lose.

Really helpful review. I've watched about four or five reviews of Mariposas, and yours has the closest thing to a strategy discussion. My wife and I are still somewhat on the fence about it. Real time pressure at the end, and we sensed early on the tension between chasing season goals or not heading that far north and maximizing the fourth generation butterflies that are available to dash south to Mexico at game end. Just subscribed to the channel.

Thank you for the video! Our family owns the base game which we enjoy to a similar level that you do, it seems, but wasn’t sure if it was worth it to get the expansions. A friend of ours bought Wyrmspan which we’ve only played once but did like. I appreciate the level of detail you include in your reviews. This was very helpful!

An addition to the price: I got soooo much value out of the game. Every scenario is an extensive evening with family and/or friends. It's quite accessible for a "complex" game so you can play it with a lot of people and not just the nerdy types. For just the base game I got many, many hours of entertainment and valued memories out of. Just a personal experience I wanted to share.
@malteschaper378214 күн бұрын
Thanks for the review. I'm considering buying a few expansions at the moment after playing a good few scenarios of the 2nd and the 1st edition. Speaking of the first edition: I know a few people how prefer the first edition, so I would say that the 2nd edition makes the 1st edition obsolete. I for one prefer the 2nd edition for the reasons you mentioned: Accessibility and more interesting dynamics.

I’d like to add a positive opinion to the pool here. After playing this game for about 20 hours I have to say that it is rewarding and fun to keep playing. Yes, it is very hard! But that’s the fun of it: you have to keep adjusting your strategy after multiple games to really learn how to optimize your chances of survival. Also I think coop is the way to go. Sharing items and helping each other move around the board helps a lot.

@@BoardOfItReviews Ha. I wonder if you played one of these versions first, that might bias you to which you prefer. I feel like I'm building this great industrial business, and instead of building more rail lines I have to stop my main agenda to worry about connecting to a beer facility for beers for the crew? It feels out of the theme to me, and I don't like having to plan or compete for another resource to deliver.
@BoardOfItReviews18 күн бұрын
@jamesstovall1391 100% believe you prefer whichever you play first! Well tbf, you only need to connect to beer if it's someone else's, so if you make your own no worrying about connections!

Grand Austria Hotel is my all-time favourite game. It's so tight in every way and you can quite easily dig yourself into a hole if you don't keep your options open... but when you pull off an incredible chain combo in spite of all of that it feels 😍 That's why I love it.

@BoardOfItReviews29 күн бұрын
Just out of interest why didn't you think Arcs would be so high? Also, we kinda rated Arcs based upon its own merits, not in combination with Blighted Reach for this list so that didn't factor in.
@antonkosse277729 күн бұрын
@ if I remember correctly you were reviewing it in a separate video back when it was starting its shipping to the markets, and for me it looked like it was too cutthroat for you (based on your review). But maybe I understood incorrectly
@BoardOfItReviews29 күн бұрын
@@antonkosse2777 Ah I see! I think it's that we expressed how cutthroat it is so people are aware of that before they buy it and take it into consideration. We generally play both sides because it's a review and focus on what people may or may not like. The cutthroat part doesn't bother us in any way, we are mean mean people.
