all those you said matter to me and that's why I'm choosing Airstream over any other brands ! i would pay more and resale value will return some of it if one day you choose to sell it ( i would not) ! that's 10/10

Would I send 160K for an airstream, No. 100K for a good use one, yes because some else took the hit on the depreciation. And I would most likely recoup my investment when I good to sell it.
@grunt984447 күн бұрын
Don't count on much depreciation buying a pre owned Airstream. Their resale value is the best in the RV market.

The real question is why would anyone buy any of the cheap garbage masquerading as travel trailers. The only trailers built good are Australian off road trailers like the Bruder

They always have had quality timeless design language from the exterior to the interior. If you want "wow factors" trendy/flashy design Airstream isn't for you.

I'm sure all that is true but its a tin can with zero room. They look fantastic for a weekend warrior with money but full-timing would be miserable in an Airstream. One thing is for certain, they're built better than anything else on the RV market.

I had an older 1975 Tradewind 25'. Mint condition. Real conversation piece at the campground. Then I ran into somebody with a vintage Holiday Rambler. I was impressed. So I ended up getting a 1986 HR Presidential 29'. In my opinion, the HR product back in the day was far superior to any Airstream. I still have the HR. Love it.

If the boss would let me sell our Rockwood TT & my SD F-250, I'd buy this immediately. So much easier for setup and take down on the campsite, not to mention being able to access the bathroom and kitchen while going down the road. Definitely a winner, nice review as well, Sir!!

Your comment regarding “artisan cut windows” is absolute nonsense. You can’t out cut a CNC machine. You probably can’t even outcut a stamping die. Same with the door, really. It’s just about tolerances, material selection, and QC.

Are airstreams greater than 10 years old turned away from today’s RV Resorts?
@jwp216618 күн бұрын
None of those reasons justify spending silly money on Airstream's cramped interior layout. They're nothing but a status symbol. But nice try.
@kcwerv5 күн бұрын
I am on my 2nd one. I like them because no slides... much simpler to setup and tear down. No sway anti-bars because they tow so nicely. Not a status symbol at all. Have you seen those class A's that cost 10 times as much?

It’s actually kind of a falsehood that they last a long time. They are worth a lot.. therefore people will maintain them and _restore_ them.. making them last a long time. These are like aircraft. Constructed the same way, worth a lot, and relatively rare. Aircraft have to deal with a constant battle against corrosion. Where steel will often just surface rust and then be the same for the next several decades (unless it’s in a salt environment)… aluminum corrosion is like cancer. Once it starts it doesn’t stop. I worked in an aircraft shop for years repairing and restoring aircraft and we had an Airstream trailer in there once from the 70s (this was the 2000s). It was a piece of junk! But.. because they are worth so much.. it was “worth it” to spend tens of thousands of dollars in repairs to fix it. But what it’s worth only matters two times. When you’re buying it, and when you’re selling it. If you’re going to keep something for a long time the only value is the intrinsic one.. how well does it do what it does? For me.. I don’t want to spend that amount of money on an RV. I also want something that’s square so you have more room inside for cabinets and bunks. What it’s worth doesn’t matter to me. I paid $3500 for an old motorhome. I’ve put far more than that into it maintaining it. It’s 37 years old and still in great shape (no leaks, no rust, runs great) so to get another 20 or more years out of it will be nothing.

It's not hard to do interior design that looks better than all the 80's country kitchen crap other manufacturers offer.

Doesn’t take much searching to find quality issues with the current airstreams. They like many are coasting on a reputation made years ago which simply no longer applies.
For a single person in 2024, this has everything you need and nothing you don't. The switch to a 12V fridge reduces the propane demand off grid. I'd prefer the Granite Ridge, but as someone in my 60's who just wants to get the heck out of Phoenix in the summer this model makes a lot of sense. Heck, I'd prefer the same floorplan with no slide. That 100K price difference makes a few lithium batteries, solar panels Star-link and We-boost post purchase attractive from a dispersed camping standpoint. Let's be honest, both are graded road "off grid" campers. The only real advantage, at it's price point, of the Granite Ridge is it's battery capacity. Upgrade the damn batteries and run the generator. 100K buys a lot of gas. If you are a full hookup camp ground kind of person the choice is easy. If I was made of money, Granit Ridge all day every day. Since I am not, a class C with a generator makes more sense.

So what I got out of this is that airstreams are expensive because the customers don't negotiate and a salesman like this guy is happy to take them to the cleaners! Also ends the video by admitting that it's a cult after starting by saying it is not. Great vid
@outdoorjaye21 күн бұрын
This is how luxury items work. You don’t need an Airstream. Many less expensive options out there. Just like cars.
