Enjoyed the video even if I disagree with many on the sentiments. There is no malice in it to your credit. As you correctly point out it comes down to personal preferences. To me the Mk4s are ugly ducklings. They are boxy, boring & is not remotely visually appealing. They can’t handle a corner & other than there not being many of them I cannot understand the fuss. The Mk5 R32 especially in 3 door form is not only much better looking machine but a much better all-round car. That said I agree with you that the Mk6 R is better looking, for me the best looking Golf R of them all. I have the manual R32 & here in Australia many consider them more desirable due to their reliability, durability & affordable maintenance compared to the early DSG offered on the R32s. They are already a classic & will become considered even more so as time passes. I think your Mk5 is beautiful & love the Supercharger. It’s a fantastic addition & addresses the lack of power of the VR6. Thanks for the video.

That car is a 2JZGE, from the factory wasn't a turbo car, it's had a single turbo added. You could get these in both auto and 5 speed manual in the GE version.

Sounds like it needs a lot more boost.. Like it's only on 5psi..that engine and spec should be lighting the tyres up 2nd and 3rd gear

Well the smile on your face says it all Anton 😁. As much as i love VW/Audi. Im also a fan of late 80s/90s Jap cars. Have modied a 200sx in the past along with a Scooby. I love how easy they are to mod. So yeah as much as I'm here for the golf projects. I'd like to see ya do a Jap car. Great video Anton! It can be so disheartening working on these cars. You fix one thing only to discover something else that needs fixing. It’s hard to stay motivated but it makes it all worth it when you drive them. Looking forward to seeing this one on the road👌🏻

I drive a small engine FWD MK4 1.8T 6 speed silver colour and its an awesome car. Bought mine 10 years ago and still love it. Mine has also been a restoration project. 90% done 😀

Did the mk4 r32 come with black headlining and pillars if so need to slap them in the as the interior is looking serious

It has to be up to temp and it's 208 and 209 to read chains

Thinking of doing this on my MK4 GTI, is there any guides or anything that helped in particular, I’ve got a parts list and a few good bits of info but anything helps. Who coded your ECU to auto or did you fit an auto ECU?

Just dsg swapped my 1.8T octavia vrs mk1 5 months ago and it's been runing great all most all the mk4 platform cars can be dsg swapped that includes golf mk4 audi a3/s3 8l audi tt seat leon 1m skoda octavia mk1 it doesn't matter if it is 4motion or not the only exception to this is if your car is born with a cable throttle body this will not work as the ecu is too old and cannot communicate with the dsg you can use a dsg/gear selector form the newer cars golf mk5/mk6 audi a3/s3 8p seat leon 1p skoda octavia mk2 they will bolt directly in sometimes you need to swap the axel cups on the dsg and then you can use the 6 speed drive shafts from mk4 golf all you need then is to splice some canbus wires in to the ecu and flash the ecu to be an automatic and you're off

J&R drive shafts from experience are just like a chinese copy for a premium price. I've had some for my 1.8T, they lasted me for around 14 months until the passenger side gave up. They rust rapidly as well hence the price. Anyway got some for my MK4 R32 three years ago for the front as the OEM boots had gone, ran them for two months and long and behold the boots on both sides split as my R32 is lowered and in addition they had surface rust appearing with just two months of being on the road. Utter garbage, avoid at all costs. Just rebuild an OEM driveshaft and have a smile on your face:)
