Yeah I have been using the same pump, all of this really depends on the depth of your aquarium, the deeper your tank is, the more powerful pump you need. So there really isn't a one size fits all approach. Just regularly cleaning or changing your air stone, having good quality air pipes and having a dust free environment is all you need.

You can use it for any tank as long as it's not too deep, works fine on my tank which has a depth of 18 inches.

Performance of air pump is very subjective, factors like depth of the aquarium, the kind of air stone you use, use of air check valve, all this would really change the visuals. If you have a standard requirement then you can go for this, it's not a very strong pump but it is silent.

Everything was provided with it, there was a small pipe that connects to a slim airstone and the other end of the pipe connects to a nozzle that is built in.

The pump is good enough for tanks that are not extremely deep, you can go for it. Just need to open and clean the filter pad once in a few months.

I have actually opened it up a few times to change the filter padding, there is no secret, just well built. Guess I might show it on camera.

This model is pretty old now so it might have gotten replaced, you can search for sunsun air pump or search using images as a lot of times they sell the same stuff under a different brand name. It does eventually start making noise and then you have to change the filter pads to fix that.

Hi! Well it really depends on the kind of fish you have. If you have koi fishes then you can go for it since the hi pro 12% and nishkigoi both have fairly large pellet size and the product is suitable for koi and similar fishes. If you are looking for the best then you can go for hikari products, but they are pretty expensive.

Well I don't have any personal experience with it so can't really give my opinion. As long as the pellet size is ideal there is no harm in trying it out. @@indianbluefrog yeah I know that but you are reading it wrong you have to put it on eye level and then read from under the meniscus (the curved part). The meniscus forms because of adhesion and cohesion. You have to read it from under the meniscus as you cannot stop that small amount of liquid. But if you do it the way it was done on the video you will have less water than u need. I also use these test kits. Just trying to help that’s all.

The pack I have shown in the video, the pellet size of that is the same as optimum cichlid. If you see both of them mention small size on the package for pellet size.

I am still using the same air pump and it has been working fine. The only maintenance I have had done on it till now is replace the intake filter with a piece of felt as it had got clogged with dust and started to make a little noise. It's very hard to record sound without professional equipment as there is so much ambient sound. This is not a very powerful pump, as you can see by the flow rate, it's just ideal for a normal aquarium. Only the US uses 120v electricity I think, the rest of the world uses the normal 220v to 240v and this is the same for me. Also voltage doesn't impact sound. This pump is really quiet, there is more sound of the bubbles popping rather than the air pump making any noise. It's also economical, however if you want more professional grade equipment then you can try EHEIM instead of Sunsun.

@@indianbluefrog On my 60cm tank, I'm using a Hailea 9602 which has started to sound a bit noisy. On my 120cm tank, I'm using an Hailea V10, which is still running quietly (in my bedroom). Have you ever used Hailea air pumps?

I haven't used this particular brand but for any air pump to become noisy there can be only two reasons (other than mechanical failure), the air intake is clogged or blocked because of dust or the rubber feet have been stripped. If the feet of the pump are okay consider servicing the air intake of the pump. Also when the intake is clogged the pump tends to run warmer as well.

@@indianbluefrog 3rd possibility for noisy air pumps is loose (or in my case damaged) case screws. I have tried to repair the screw supports with silicone sealant but it's not looking (or sounding) good... I have already cleaned the filter on the air pump and have placed it on top of foam support.

I recommend you try this lineup of sunsun, they have various models and one of them should meet your requirement. Maybe buy from a place that has a return policy and you could just return it if it's not to your expectations.

If it's the same model then it's probably a defective product, try using it without an air check valve and with new airline tubing, and new air stone that could also be the problem.

Depends on your feeding habits, it can easily last you 3 to 4 months.

I understand your point, trouble is on camera colour after video editing is very different from what you see with your own eyes. Also different devices and displays will show the colours differently due to different display settings.
