I think every single runner should have their own channel and film every second of every race. Every runner should have multiple people filming and flying drones. We need to set up cameras all over the course also. Every single runner should be required by law to make a documentary of every run they go on🙏

I have the Trabuco 11s and the sole grip is stellar. I can put full faith in them time after time over a variety of terrains. That means so much on mountain hikes and runs. The Max 2’s sole is very similar to the 11 and 12 with maybe a few less lugs. I would love to try the Max 2, but I’m a bit apprehensive about wearing them on technical terrain. For that reason, I chose the Trabuco 12 as my next shoe.

I love everything about this shoe but last long run before an upcoming trail 25k I rolled my ankle about 4 times only on steep rocky rooty downhill (I live in the northeast it’s gnarly up here). I love everything about this shoe except for that aspect which I didn’t experience on non mountain trail runs. Trying to figure out if I go with the Trabuco for the race or play it safe with my Olympus 5 which feels like sludge comparatively when I run uphill or flats. What would you recommend? Just wish they took like 5mm off the stack height .. it feels very stable except for rocky downhill.
@NewSkiwi2 ай бұрын
😂I read on another review that the Trabuco II had a lower stack height. Might be worth checking out.
@paulomorais63194 ай бұрын
excellent review. I have the same shoe (another color), around 300k made on it, I love the comfort and protection, but it is impossible to use these shoes on somewhat technical terrain with rocks and roots. my ankle rolled and I was stuck for two weeks, it was really annoying and it had never happened to me before. Today, I would rather buy Trabuco 11 or 12 (new model)

Hey I know this is an old review, I'm thinking of getting a regular houdini for running as well. You mentioned that after running with it for a period of time, the jacket retains sweat. Do you by chance know how long that would be? I just run 30-40 min every other day. Thanks!
@tazpengra4 ай бұрын
I think my second run in them was the Grand Canyon. No issues.
@charlotteXultra4 ай бұрын
I got them last summer after seeing your 1st review! At the time I was just curious and starting out in trail running. I now have 535 miles on them, have been thru slush, frost, snow, slick mud, pouring rain, technical trails, swiss hikes, +1,000m to 3,952m mountain summiting hikes in TW with them - and they are still like brand new. I can't really compare other shoes since I never needed to get another pair of shoes, but I feel qualified to say these are definitely cherry picks for ultras and power or fast hiking if they fit your feet the way they hug mine 🥰
@Kaisersozze3 ай бұрын
Did you find the midsole gets harder in cold temperatures? Solereview says the midsole doesn't perform well in cold temperatures yet they say the new version V3 performs great in the cold, I doubt there is huge difference since its still the same FFBlast foam.
@charlotteXultra3 ай бұрын
@@Kaisersozze I honestly haven't noticed that. The coldest I've run these in was a 50k trail in single digit temp this past Jan but I do wear insoles (flat feet) so I might not be any wiser to comment on this aspect!

Thinking of using these for all training and racing this year but worried about them for very technical stuff. Have you heard of the seven sisters trail race in Massachusetts? It’s super gnarly in rocks and my first time running it will be this May - there is very little all out running for the race. Would love your thoughts on this shoe for that race if you had a minute to look it up. Not looking to buy 2 shoes just to race that one so wondering if the TM2 would be OK? Great review and video.

Im close to the 200 mile mark in mine. As you said its a great shoe, super comfortable and surprisingly stable considering the stack height I thought. Asics have just realised the v3 so I'm tempted however I've just ordered the Brooks Catamount 3 so if i don't get on with them then the TM3 will be getting ordered 😂
@offroadagain4 ай бұрын
How do you get along with the Brooks? I don't know the Asics but compared to my Speedgoat 5, the Catamount 3 feel way less cushioned. They are fast but not too comfy on the longer runs.

@@markg99 I’ve had 3 pairs for the standard Gel Trabuco’s, the 6, 8 and now the 10’s, had the 9’s for a while but returned them to Asics as the sizing changed slightly but it looks like the sole’s are similar on both the standard Trabuco and the Trabuco Max’s which means the grip is excellent, all good, doing plenty of walking and building my running back up slowly again, keep up the good work mate 👍🏻
