The story of the A220 is quite amazing. Boeing pressured the US government to impose a 300% tariff on Bombardier's C Series. Huge own goal, since it pushed it into the arms of Airbus 🤣 - now a huge success!!

I don't get how they say the GE90 engines are powerful, yet the 777 cruises at lower altitudes. Can someone elaborate please
@Flightradar24DotCom
@Flightradar24DotCom Күн бұрын
That all comes down to the wing. Even with the wingtips stretching the wingspan on the -300ER, it's still an older and less efficient wing that's on the 777, and the -300ER in particular is very heavy for the wing design. The engines are super powerful to get it airborne, but when it's heavy it just can't cruise as high as the newer tech like 787/350

@03:25 you should add the runway in Antarctica as an airport in FR24 instead of it showing as N/A.

The corduroy runways and the scenery really put you in a different state of mind. You can’t go anywhere without sunglasses, and sunscreen too, I imagine. There’s a lot to see besides just white, though! Great series of videos! Thanks, Jim

@Delibro
@Delibro Күн бұрын
Don't think so. The flat earthers were there the beginning of December, he went there I think end of January. And it's a completely other base about 3000 km away from each other. But Captain Joe went to this White Desert base, he is a Plane-KZbinr too.

Unbelievable! The Antarctic is such a sensitive last piece of an almost intact ecosystem! Does this also have to be sacrificed for the sake of tourism? It's completely perverse to land there with such a big plane... Against nature, smoothing the runway for hours beforehand for this damn plane with oversaturated milionaires on board: for the ultimate kick - destruction of Antarctica

Fascinating! I have the most odd, strange question. These people sometimes work for months at a time. They’re fit, young, in prime condition. What do they do for sex? Pair-up with other colleagues? Or is it strictly a “manual” operation?

Being from Mobile, it is a bit ironic watching Boeing fall apart (figuratively and literally). They had an opportunity to build a plant here (with massive state subsidies) but became greedy. If you are wondering why the A-220 was built in Mobile, take a look at the aircraft's history at Bombardier, long story short, Boeing did not have a competing aircraft and knew they were in trouble so they tried to push for a 100% tariff on the aircraft for US customers. That is when Airbus became a majority owner of the program and moved SOME production to Alabama. Since it was now built in the US it didn't face the Tariff. In a backhanded way, we in Mobile have Boeing to thank for Airbus being here. Also a small side not, Southwest Airlines, Boeing's largest domestic 737 customer even admitted that the A220 trumps the 737 Max on most parameters for their operation.
