Not sure if you're still around but love the bike build videos. I have a 2003 SV1000N that I'm trying to clean up. The bike currently has an aftermarket (junk) dual headlight setup that also serves as a mount for the speedometer. I'm trying to get it all back to stock and while I have a solution to mount the original 7" headlight bucket, I don't have a way to mount the speedometer because the top triple tree clamp is aftermarket as well (LSL) and it lacks the screw holes in the original positions for what I assume is the bracket that holds the speedometer in its housing. How did you mount yours? I noticed the triple clamp is also aftermarket and can kind of see some pieces that hold the bracket I'm referring to. Would you be able to share any photos of how you mounted it? Thanks!

Thank you for watching and for your comment. I'm still around, but not as active as before. I don't plan on taking down the channel, though, as I would like to continue making videos. As you might be able to see in the video, I have created my own brackets for the speedometer. I believe they were made from 3 mm. aluminium - or was it stainless steel? Honestly, I can't remember. They are secured on the underside of the triple clamp by inserting a short bolt into the threaded hole used for securing the brackets that hold the handlebars on the topside. If you pause the video at the right time you should be able to somewhat get an idea of how this all is made. When I get some time, I plan to remake those brackets. I want a single bracket that bolts to the same holes I am currently using - but I am just not happy with what I have made so far.

I love my SV1K. Deer took the windshield, lights, fender, radiator, and other plastic off the front end. I went with a fender, radiator, round headlight, and small windscreen off eBay. I just raised the bars using the factory top triple clamp. I got by with original brake and clutch lines and throttle cables and wiring. Removing the air box looked too hard to me so i managed to reroute the throttle cables with the box in place.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I sourced those from a local dealership that specializes in rubber hoses and other stuff for the automotive industry.

The ones that broke were cheap chinese copies of the famous (and expensive) CRG Arrows model. I ended up installing HighSider bar-end mirrors instead. MUCH better quality and MUCH better visibility.

Hi, where did you get the headlight brackets ? It’s silimar as the oem but, I think, it’s 50/54 mm , isn’t it?
@motomazz
@motomazz 3 жыл бұрын
It's the OEM ones, but I had to cut the open in order to expand them, to allow them to fit over the wider USD fork legs. It not that much, but they wouldn't fit otherwise. However, the rubber grommets that sit on the brackets fit just fine. Tight, yes, but nothing that a little heat and a small amount of grease couldn't fix. Thanks for watching. :)

Thanks. I wanted to shoot for an international audience, since my workshop videos will be targeting owners of Suzuki SV1000's. While there ARE quite a lot of SV1000 riders here in Denmark, my videos should be able to help people worldwide. IF they can understand me, that is. ;)

That's understandable that's the exact same thing for me I wanted to be International and not only for Denmark ;) and to be honest I think your idea is absolutely wonderful to help other people with the exact same bike as you have and that is more or less the same thing I've done for the last half-year with my own bike helping other people learn it like I still had to learn how it works ^w^
