Hi Bill, I hope that you might read this comment, so late. How would you compare this against the AJP PR7? They share the motor, but I believe that the PR7 has better chassis and suspension. Thanks for your thoughts.

How do you find the PR7, I was tempted to buy one last year a 22 bike almost New, a few friends have bought SWM Dual sports, I just hanker after a PR7…

Hey. Quite enjoy watching your vids - but how are you getting the permission to ride off road in Scotland?? My understanding was that was totally illegal?

The laws a funny thing, you can ride off rd with landowners consent. Normally if you have a legal bike and don’t be stupid no one bothers with you… if asked to leave an area be polite and leave.. as long as you don’t commit damage you are normally ok

Bill - the law in Scotland is clear; no rising off road in a mechanically propelled vehicle without the land owners consent. You're running the risk of giving people another stick to shake at motorcyclists. If we all did this because we thought we were just being sensible, the place would be a mess and overrun with visitors from further afield thinking it was fine to ride off road. The UK TET is just down the road - or go race Enduro like I did- but please think again about what you're doing - no matter how much fun it undoubtedly is!! At the very least, go get that permission from the land owner 👍🏽

Does the "Race Tune" map with the Doma exhaust make the bike less economical particularly at steady highway speed? Does it alter the bottom end fuelling for tight woods riding adversely? It sounds nice, throaty but not too loud.

I personally wouldnt touch the rear brake in emergency stop, just all frontbrake. The rear break is too weak to make a difference due to the mini size of the rear disk, compared to the massive front disk size. The rear should not lock up at all.

@gazzertrn 1 second ago I have been riding for 50 + years , since i was 10 years old in my back garden with my dad who rebuilt and sold bikes . IAM is a bit of a joke to me , i rode in rain ,snow and heatwaves .The only way to get experience is to ride your bike all year round .Too many sunday sunny day bikers aint got a clue how to ride go on an IAM course , learn nothing and pay through the nose . So you come off , then just get back on and learn from your mistak

Think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick - the video is to encourage continued skills development where it’s playing in a field on dirt bike or trials..if you don’t practice then you will not react when required… ps this course was FREE £ and open to any rider

Hi Bill, did u ever have more trouble with the Himalayan. I've got a 2021 with similar mileage. I've stripped the clutch and most fibre plates are beyond their minimum wear. I've ordered a Hitchcock replacement so hopefully it's sorted.

Great Video. What is your experiences with adjusting suspension on PR7? I will do a Rally in Marocco in January and have tried different settings, but so far I only got good feedback with a bit more compression on forks. I also have a few millimeters more on shock preload. my weight fully geared up is 90 kg. Hope you have a few hints I can use. Thanks

Because of the mixed terrain I normally ride (none competitive ) green lane off rd…I leave the bike on standard settings - on my 2019 model I got the suspension professionally set up with heavy springs etc… it was good at 1st but to hard for some terrain- I don’t muck around much with the suspension but would get it serviced regularly. Sorry for not being much held to you…

We have consent from some land owners & as a group we are trying to negotiate with Forestry management for partial redundant fire rd access👍🤞😂

@@BillCairns ok good luck with the quest - i am a Munro and had hoped i could just bring the bike up and ride freely, i was a bit wounded when i found out it was different tbh, eh oh, - spent half my youth up and down from England to see family from the borders through inverness arbroath etc right up to the north tip, ah well maybe they open it up one day or at least allow something like the TET
