That bike looks like a weapon. Very focused machine.

Looks good Bill, you can see you've benefitted from your previous ownership. Perhaps the sump guard mod should be a factory update.

Sidestand, it's so they don't have to use a sidestand switch. Pretty clever

The PR7 looks amazing and I really like the focused mods you done to the bike, what does the rim tape help with?? Tyre change?

Looks like a fun bike! How is the vibrations? OK for long days?
@BillCairns2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mattias I don’t really feel any vibrations 🤔 or I fall off that much that I don’t notice 😂👍

I have the chance to buy an AJP PR7 next week. Agonizing between this and buying a used 701. Definitely, cheaper to get the AJP since it comes with all the bits and pieces out of the box.
@BillCairns2 жыл бұрын
Choices choices… apart from the annoying well posted starting issues with the older PR7’s in my opinion it’s a more reliable bike and easier to work on. I previously owner the ktm690r. It also depends on your riding requirements ie: the 701 has more bhp more hard core ridding position - PR7 feels more like a bigger bike with more roomy geometry, definitely the better adventure bike in my opinion but! It is a marmite bike… would be good if you could ride one. 🤔👌🏴🏍

@@BillCairns Thanks so much for your insight. How's the noise level with the bike now? I heard the Doma exhaust is a bit loud and my hearing is already crap. I'll be test riding in a few days and will find out. Thanks again!
@BillCairns2 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelShaw206 I’m fine with the exhaust noise… most sellers will retain the standard exhaust also and provide that at the point of sale👍

Hi Bill. Can I ask what the purpose of the tape on your rims is? Thanks 👍🏼

Protects wheel rim from scratches in rocks and when repairing flats….

Good looking motorbike. About side stand is mandatory for enduro bikes to be autofoldable. Please can you show link of purchase for seatcover? thanks
@BillCairns2 жыл бұрын
Don’t have seat cover link - Google ‘cool seat cover’ there made in England👍

Hi Bill, you've done a lovely job with that. I'm thinking about picking up a second hand one. I'm intrigued to know why you upgraded to the 2021 rather than just improving you're older bike? Presumably the fueling as you mention it. Did you feel upgrading your pre-2021 bike (new ECU, improved fuel feed mods) wouldn't quite have gotten it where you would want? I guess the wiring loom updates on the 2021 are also quite an improvement.

Loved my old model .. even bought spare engine with the intention of running her into the ground…then I read the reviews on the new model and although I could get along with the documented faults of my 2019 model I thought the unicorn bike would be “if they where ironed out”… the new wiring harness, relays and ecu seem to have cured it although there is issues with tablet.

@@BillCairns Thanks Bill. It's a 2018 I'm eyeing - any thoughts on that iteration?
@BillCairns Жыл бұрын
@@clivedarwell5732 Put in better inline fuel filter (remove micro filter at injector) good quality lithium battery, take the time to learn starting quirks… once you understand her she’s fine. (Probable the previous owner has sorted) Don’t listen to all the crap said about the bike, the faults are easy sorted. Most buyers are not used to 10 yr old design big singles. ecu annoyance varies from bike to bike and what the individual rider is willing to accept relevant to smooooth throttle response.

Hello Bill. Cheers for the videos. How have you found the crash bars? Ive seen a few videos where people have cracked the welds although they don't say whether they dropped the bike at speed or not. If they handle low speed or static spill I think that would be enough as thats when I tend to loose balance or forget Ive got short legs. Also did the protection on the exhaust work in the long run? Cheers Paul
@BillCairns Жыл бұрын
On my previous pr7 2019 I had to weld crash bars twice after spills.. They are aluminium & light, not to expensive and good for holding tool bags and with the bags on you have weather protection and the bike doesn’t lay flat on the ground so easy lifting 😂 So far! The additional exhaust protection is working- it tends to be falls on big rocks that crush lower exhaust
@paulmullany7147 Жыл бұрын
@@BillCairns Stopping the bike laying flat is one of the best things about crash bars. I had not thought about their potential to shelter your legs from the weather. Are the newer ones stronger or have you just crashed less? Cheers Paul

@@BillCairns Sorry Bill but if its OK Ill pick your brain again. Did the Oxford heated grips get on OK with the lithium battery? Ive fitted them on all my bikes but they all had normal batteries. Some people have suggested I may need a relay but Im pretty sure the controller on the oxford grips will do that job and prevent the battery getting wrecked. Cheers Paul

You're not making those bashplates to order are ya ? .....Bikes looking great , my bashplate has taken a beating and the exhaust is Knackered too.....One of the faults of the bike if used in rocky terrain.....Good video

Wouldn’t be cost effective to offer alteration service for bash plate guard..👍
