I am so sorry you are going through such a difficult time. My dad has vascular dementia, and it has been difficult time. You have so much on your shoulders, but you are right, God knows and knew. Rest in Him. I will be praying.

Axel you have good taste in music! I’ve been wanting to adopt a child like a teenager or around the age 10 with Down syndrome when I get married in the future because I have friends with it and I’ve volunteered to work with them and I’m trying to decide if I should,any advice?

What is your experience with washing clothing with sticky back Velcro? If you wash with medium warm water, does the stick last? And when you buy clothing that needs to be adapted later by cutting sides or backs, etc., do you need to buy the garment one size up? If you use clothing already owned, do you need to add plackets for the foundation of the Velcro? Thanks!
@HardlyAMemory Жыл бұрын
Hi! I use iron-on Velcro for this. I don’t think plain adhesive back will hold up to frequent washings. The iron-on is very durable. Make sure before washing that you velcro all the parts as they should be and they won’t curl up as they like to do. I do buy larger mostly because it also has to go around the halo. Just one size up worked fine for my son. I only used new shirts, but for the most part bought inexpensive shirts.

@@HardlyAMemory Thanks, Leah. I have another question for you.. what is your experience with the raw edges of the Tshirt...do they fray? It doesn't appear to me in your video that you "finished" the edges. I recently purchased some Velcro that is "slim" and lightweight, for sewing. It actually looks like brushed nylon on one side, and a very lightweight plastic strip with a rough side for the other strip. I'm adapting my husband's shirts so that they open in the back, vertically, and I didn't use stabilizer but made a placket out of more matching Tshirt fabric. It worked, but the fabric does stretch, and it's made for a heavier opening on both sides.
@HardlyAMemory Жыл бұрын
@@maryturton579 I never had a problem with fraying and didn’t have a machine to finish edges at the time. But my son only wore them for about four months so maybe they would have if we had needed them longer.

I have a question, a video I seen says that you and your partner Dean have 12 children, yet, you have seven kids. Could you please explain thay
@HardlyAMemory4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Dean and I each have adult kids who are grown and out of the house. 5+7=12. ;-) Our family confuses lots of people!

I saw a comment by you in my notification about kid's ages, but then come here and I don't see it, so I'll post them anyway: Rob 33, Noah 32, Tyler 30, Bryon 30, Aaron 29, Angela 23, Axel 19, Roman 16, Abel 16, Amos 15, Audrey 15, Asher 15

So ,I have another question, two actually. One is Angela your only biological daughter with special needs or does your other adult kids have special needs? Second, are you married to Dean?
@HardlyAMemory4 жыл бұрын
Spectrum Reviewer Yes Angela is my only biological daughter. One of my adult kids has special needs but it is not for me to disclose. I can say Roman is not our first child with Tourette syndrome. ;-)

How are all of your kids so talented?! I am so impressed with all of them. I relate to Roman in the aspect of not being confident in the things I say and do, partly from my younger years. Your family has been a joy to discover and you guys warm my heart. I know I'm 29 but I wish you would adopt me.😂

Best of luck to you and your family in getting better. The flu can be scary. I had type B last February. Went to bed Saturday night, woke up Monday morning in the hospital, lost all of Sunday, 107 temp, almost died, only 26 but cortisone deficiency, so when I get sick like that it's even worse... The most scarry time of my life... Anyway, my point is I understand how horrible and nasty the flu can be, so I wish you all the best, and good luck with the surgery! Also, congrats on 5 years NED, that's awesome! I saw your beautiful family on SBSK; you're all so lucky to have each other, you're a beautiful family!
