Man I think you've just sold it to me. Always wanted to but such a good video. I'm based in Dublin ireland, saw you did the aff with the Irish parachute club, would you recommend them as the first steps to going solo? I've only done one tandem jump from 10k
@MattvB912 жыл бұрын
Irish Parachute club is alright if you have a lot of patience. If you want to smash out jumps consistently I'd recommend going abroad to somewhere like skydive spain where you can absolutely smash out jumps non stop! I've seen people go from 0 jumps to 50 within one week over there. You'll be lucky to get 2-3 jumps a weekend in over at IPC as a student if the weather is good & there isn't too much tandems.
@Ericwalshekite2 жыл бұрын
@@MattvB91 cool your the second person to suggest Spain! Saw an all inclusive level 1-7 with accommodation for 2500 vs 1500 in ireland just for the course so extra grand probably worth it! Thanks for the info!!

@MattvB917 жыл бұрын
I'd say dont get sucked into the herd early on and simply hike your own hike. Its very easy to get sucked into the party crowd and stay in towns for days. Ends up being very expensive & you loose alot of time. Once your past the 1000 mile mark you have your momentum figured out and can join groups here and there that suit your own hiking style.
@kalerortvedt1477 жыл бұрын
He's hiking it with two other people. How would you recommend layering during your hike when it's raining and also what material is best to sleep in? Yesterday they hiked thru the rain and his layers under his rain jacket were damp from sweat and it was down to 20F last night
@MattvB917 жыл бұрын
I just hiked in tshirt - rainjacket - shorts through the rain and made sure I had a dry thermal sleeping layer. I did have an umbrella tho so I never really had to worry about upper body temperature.
@SweetTone767 жыл бұрын
Did you see any mountain lions? That's their territory, I once was hiking on SG mountains and kept hearing a slight snap of twigs and rustling in the bushes behind me, I decided to just walk faster and when I darted around a corner ran higher up on a ridge, I turn around and spotted a giant cougar staring right at me then he ran off. Scary feeling once you see them. I think back now, that cougar was prob stalking me 😬👎 😂✌️great video btw.
@MattvB917 жыл бұрын
Didn't see one myself but they were around & spotted by another hiker while we were hiking down San Jacinto around 3am.
