Hi brother, quite recently I have installed Fuel X pro + in my Interceptor. Can you plss guide me about which maps should I use for city traffic, highway cruising and climbing hills respectively. After the installation and completing 230 kms I find the drop in milage of 5kms per litre. Can you plss advise?🙏
@Subh_therollingnomad
@Subh_therollingnomad 9 күн бұрын
@@jwilson8468 hey bro! Good morning per Race Dynamics, the manufacturer, this should not bring about a drop in the mileage because the engine runs cooler compared to stock with the Fuel X pro. So less vapor losses for sure. Now, if normally for city rides, you keep it at 5 (map 3 being the stock equivalent), that’s how I keep it, at 5 and that works out pretty well, i get about 26kmpl city mileage and on the highways i choose Map 7 mostly, and my normal highway mileage is about 31kmpl with pillion and some luggage. So, that being said, do consider checking other factors that could cause a drop in your mileage if it’s too off from the numbers i cited. Did you alter your riding style too much after getting this, riding very aggressively? What mileage are you obtaining and are you riding an interceptor as well??

@@Subh_therollingnomad Thank you so much for your detailed explanation bro.I will follow your map pattern. Suggest me the ideal map for climbing hills bro.I used to get an average of around 26 city, highways and hills combined. During the installation a mistake happened the person had connected the module to the bike's air filter connector and I rode the bike for 350 kms unaware of this mistake, probably the mileage drop could be a result of this.

@@jwilson8468 no worries bro, here to help With these modifications, the connections play the most crucial role since the sensor inputs are what contribute to calibrating and giving the desired outputs. Anyway, coming to your question, for hills it totally depends on the altitude. When i was riding in Ooty, i was able to ride without any issues on Map 3, may be Map 4 could have worked just fine as well I believe, but i kept that at Map 3. Now when i go to Ladakh, in the upper altitudes, it may need to be switched to Map 2 or even 1, who knows, when I’m there i shall figure out. You can get certain hints in the form of the engine beginning to stall while climbing higher and higher, pointing to a possible need to decrease the fuel in the chamber (decrease in the Fuel X pro map setting).

Very true that! I would say that the credit for this goes to the Manager of the RE Service Centre who was sensitive enough to empathise after i told how high an expectation was I setting for the motorcycle in preparing it for my Ladakh ride, and how it just gave up on such a small ride. And of course all the prior rides that i have done on this motorcycle before can’t be categorised really as long rides, being just about 500km one way. He did his best to identify the issue and put it across to RE in a way that is sensible and keeping the customer’s or rather the rider’s interest ahead of the company’s. So yeah, deepest appreciation to him for that.

@@jarhead6153 absolutely, i hope the same fervently, i would need some support though in the process, from all you guys who have an Interceptor so that we can really add some weight and put it across to the company. Chassis getting a crack is something i have heard so prominently from RE motorcycles alone, i have a dominar whose chassis has undergone double the kilometres, double the stress under similar conditions, still stands strong without any chassis issues at all. Do share my video once published so we may convey the seriousness of this to RE.

Reason behind this probably is topbox. . Leaver principle
@Subh_therollingnomad
@Subh_therollingnomad Күн бұрын
I would say the design of the chassis is the reason (read culprit), in which the rear tubular section is left suspended in air without support underneath, that is the true cause, the top box is merely aiding and aggravating that design flaw. If it can be damaged by a topbox’s weight, it could as well be damaged by a pillion somewhat heavier than my wife (who is the one I most commonly carry as a pillion) and replace the topbox with a bag. Anywhichway, the top box merely had our clothes for two days.

@@1forged_piston yes, everyone can have his/her own philosophy based on which one would come to make one’s own decision, I can’t and am no one to dictate that. I can only share my experiences and how i arrived at my decision. There are advantages and disadvantages of soft luggage and hard luggage. However, hard luggage or panniers have been in existence for quite sometime now, because people do opt for them. We are here to share our experiences here so that anybody who is looking to make a decision can consider each other’s experiences and inputs for their own decision making. But yeah, it is always more sensible and easier to travel with lighter luggage to carry.

Sir Is Motul really that good engine oil than the Royal Enfield service centre
@Subh_therollingnomad
@Subh_therollingnomad Ай бұрын
See bro, firstly RE doesn’t manufacture its own engine oil, it’s only selling the engine oil of some other manufacturer with whom RE has a collaboration, that’s all Secondly and practically speaking, if you juat take care of the grade of engine oil, then it doesn’t matter, you can even mix two or more different engine oils of the same grade and use it in case of an emergency, just don’t mix two different grades and bike engine oil with four wheeler engine oil. That apart it’s okay to use any brand, I use Castrol Power One Ultimate on my Dominar 400, and so far i have had only one oil change on my Interceptor so far, and it’s been working fine with the RE engine oil in it.
@Perseverance11

It even reduces the heating and increase smooth gearing ....but exactly don't know if it's actually true .... I'm unable to judge coz I don't know how much smooth an engine should be and what is actually perfect for the bike
@Subh_therollingnomad
@Subh_therollingnomad Ай бұрын
@@Perseverance11 it’s only the additives and detergents in the engine oil which differ from one brand to the other majorly. The more important factor is if your engine has good oil circulating inside or not, if the parts are getting lubricated before it’s running (or flying 😅) or not. So generally speaking, it’s okay if you are ensuring that the engine oil grade is correct. However, try one after the other, you may start with Motul and check how the engine feels after that, if the bike is really liking the oil, you shall see a noticeable difference in the way the bike sounds and feels overall- smoothness, pickup, sound, these can let you know if the engine liked the oil. But yeah, as long as you are changing the oil per the oil change interval regularly, and topping up when needed, it won’t be a concern. RE tries to give you what’s cost effective, but i understand your concern as someone who loves his bike, because i’m one just like you. If i were in your place, i would try the same, motul first, may be consider Shell also, and Castrol as well. I have had my Dominar for the last 5years, and it’s running like cream and butter with Castrol Power 1 Ultimate. I followed the same strategy with that- ride it with the correct grade oil, try out a couple of different brands and check which one the engine is running cooler with, smoother with, sounding better with at idle rpm, providing a better pickup with, that’s all. I used Motul and then settled with Castrol and sometimes Shell. Hope this helps!

@@Perseverance11 If there’s a choice between motul and the company’s engine oil, i would go for Motul surely, however i have been using the RE engine oil for the last 15k km, it’s doing alright, will change to Shell or Motul on the next oil change.

Its doesnt serve any purpose. Because tubeless rims has tubeless air nozzle which attaches tightly inside the hole in the rims thus it retain air pressure inside tyre . But for tube type a tube has its own nozzle which is inserted in that same hole of rim. So u have to choose either one of them according to your uses. I would say go for tubeless . Because if u follow some basic rules and understand your limitations your rims will not get bent. One of the best way to get tubeless is buy alloy rims from RE as new interceptor comes with alloy u can easily fit them. It will be far more reliable than outex as if u manage to break 1-2 spokes u need to remove the outex depending on effected area to replace the spoke . And also alloys are lighter so weight loss . + Less rotating mass means more agile better riding quality.
