It is really heartbreaking. It would have been better if you had given information on how you identified that your chassis was cracked. I may be wrong, but I believe that what 'Merely a Spectator' said in the video named: "Moto torque saddle stay for Interceptor 650 - Even for non tourers" might be right. I would like to know your thoughts on it as well. I really hope that Royal Enfield changes the entire chassis without any issues and under warranty. Do let us know your story with Royal Enfield.

Hey bro, i did check that video out, and yes that’s exactly what the issue is, as shared by that gentleman. Also, i feel that if the chassis tube at the top had been one continuous unit, from the front to the back, instead of the rear being a separate tube put inside the main/front section (with just about 2 inches inserted for support), in my engineering sense would have been much more effective even if the same chassis shape were to be retained. First, the way RE did it, the rear subsection is of a smaller gauge obviously compared to the front section, and secondly 2inches of insertion inside the main tube to handle pillion weight and weight added further back, is a very possible ground for metal fatigue to set in, thus leading to a crack sooner or later. Anyway, let’s get together in the form of an online campaign and have this escalated, more the people sharing this voice, more would its efficacy be.

Reason behind this probably is topbox. . Leaver principle

I would say the design of the chassis is the reason (read culprit), in which the rear tubular section is left suspended in air without support underneath, that is the true cause, the top box is merely aiding and aggravating that design flaw. If it can be damaged by a topbox’s weight, it could as well be damaged by a pillion somewhat heavier than my wife (who is the one I most commonly carry as a pillion) and replace the topbox with a bag. Anywhichway, the top box merely had our clothes for two days.
