surprised you don't use a 330 cat track hoe for your stumps

Life would be easier with a angle blade on that old 46A, my favorite D8 dozee

I started my machinery operating days on D7E back the early seventys I have allso put in many hrs on 7Fs and 7Gs which are a little bit more nifty but 7E has abit more grunt especially when they really knuckle down plus that awesome 4 cylinder sound !!

That had to be the worst piece of machine operation I have ever seen. I could push more dirt with my Tonka Toy.

That’s why you don’t cut the tree and then push the stump just use the tree to use it own weight to get it when the dozer pushes it makes it easier

Want to see more videos on all of it. The machines working, the roads being built, the maintenance & 'upgrades' being done to the equipment. It's one of the reasons why I originally subscribed long ago. Hope all goes well for you in the new year & I'm looking forward to some new videos!

My dad was a cat logger over on the Klamath, Happy Camp, Seiad Valley and then later out east of McCloud. He had a D7E, D7F, D8-14A. All new at one time, well used when he retired. Good tractors, the 7's were basically an ideal logging cat for medium sized timber because they had a good center of gravity for skidding. A D6 bought later needed a short arch to lift the front of the skids, the 7's didn't. Is the Wharf Restaurant still down by the harbor?

Nope. Never gonna get tired of dozer videos. Great stuff. Wish you were in my area. Have a ton of road building to do but I can’t find anyone that will venture into the mountains. Plenty of people know how to build parking lots but not to many that know what to do with a mountain road.

That dirt looks like a dream to make roads with. The winch is for beginners incase they tip it to far or logging. I'm guessing but you can set high lead logging with that winch set up or even cable block logs out if steep terrain with that one.

That's a cool technique digging a corner and widening and getting more dirt on the steep corner front digging the blade tip up high side .
